This week's quick mish mash tag

I have been having fun playing with patterns while using up my paper scraps. Little bits and bobs that are too small to make an impact on a 12x12 layout packs a punch on a much smaller tag....like this one.

Meet this week's quick mish mash tag! :)

Make Stuff Monday - a mini decorated bag

Hello friends! Today's Make Stuff Monday is a mini decorated bag.

It was a really small bag but it took.a really long time to decorate....The pearl trim was white but I coloured it with a black Sharpie to match...and take took ages!

I added some remnant lace trim to the sides of the bag and also used the lace to create the bloom for the front of the bag.

Here's the paper bag I stated with.

I think it turned out quite lovely. It's just super hard to photograph because of the gold foil on the patterned paper.

P/s: Have a safe week ahead friends! Stay away from crowds and wash your hands!

A recent art supply haul

Hello friends! Hope you are staying healthy both mentally and physically wherever you are. I just want to share a recent art supply haul.

#The100dayproject starts on April 7 and I couldn't decide on an art journal for the project because you know how much I love to experiment on different substrates so I bought different papers to work on. I think I shall work on single sheets and then bind them all together into a book at the end of the project duration.

Shall I go bigger this year? Last year I went small because I needed it to be portable due to frequent travel. Travel in the next few months seem pretty remote at this point in time so I really should challenge myself to go big, right? What do you think? Will you guys be participating in #the100dayproject this year? It would be nice to have some bloggy friends join me. *winks*

This week's quick tag

In case you were wondering, I just found a pack of 6x6 white smooth cardstock in my stash...and have just been obsessed with making cards and tags with them as a base and packing them on with bits from my paper scrap pile. :)

The top portion of the tag was put together with bits from some happy mail. I added a lace overlay over the patterned paper and quite like the pretty effect. :)

Anyway, just wanted to check in with you my friends....how are you doing in your part of the world?

Singapore is not in a lockdown but we've seen a spike in the number of COVID 19 cases in the last week due to Singaporean students returning from universities in Europe and US.  Also, idiots continued to party at night spots and other entertainment centres, ignoring the government's plea to avoid crowded places. As a result, from Friday 27 March, all these entertainment places will be closed until the end of April, all eating places have to reduce the number of seating for social distancing, all after-school curricular activities have been suspended and there should no gatherings of more than 10 people at any one time, including family members in your own home. Yep, no religious services of any kind too. Malls can be open but must allow 16 square metres of space between customers (which pretty much means all small stores can only have 1 customer in the store at any one time because rental here is high so shops are tiny). Don't you just hate when the entire society has to pay for the inconsiderate few who engage in socially irresponsible behaviour? We've had a few clusters that were totally preventable. And 2 panic buying situations so far.

What's the situation like in your neck of the woods?

Reusing a tag on a card

Reusing a tag on a card

Don't you just love how quick a project comes together when you incorporate another previously made project on it? ;)

Reusing a tag on a card

Like reusing a tag I made a long time ago on this card. I think it turned out quite decent for a really quick card. And there's one less tag crying in the pile of completed projects. *LOL*

Make Stuff Monday - a gift set

What do you do when you need to send a package to a friend overseas for her birthday much much earlier because of the massive shutdowns/lockdowns amid the global COVID-19 pandemic and you haven't actually started putting together your happy mail?

Well, you cheat a little. Like take a decorated box you decorated earlier this year and use it as a creative start off point.

I created a mini folder that would fit inside the box.

As usual, I went a little overboard with the decorating the cover part of the folder.

So I had to add more pops of colour to the cover of the box to match. ;)

Here's the inside of the folder (which I will fill with scrapbooking supplies).

I also made a card to sort of coordinate with the set.

I had so much fun creating this gift set. I think I may be making a couple more to send out to friends. I'm sure we could all use a little happy mail to cheer us up at this point in time.

What do you think?

A card with no sentiment

I don't know about you but I never seem to find a card with the "right" sentiment in my stash when I need one. And often find myself having to make one as and when I need one instead of taking from a ready-made stash. Which is not a good thing when you need one like the day before yesterday. *LOL*

This year, I'm going to work on a stash of cards with no sentiment so that I can quickly add an appropriate sentiment when I need to. Like this one. A card made from paper scraps with no sentiment and can be an "all occasion" card. :)

What about you? Do you have a stash of ready-made cards for all occasions? Or do you just made one when you need one?

Wednesday

This week's pages from the travel planner- Sydney 2019.

With the global COVID-19 pandemic curtailing non-essential travel for the time being (9 weeks and counting), your wanderlust friend here is taking solace in scrapbooking her backlog of travel photos from the past few years. 2020 may well be a year of creative completion of projects that should have been done ages ago. *LOL*

Anyway, in last week's post, you saw that my Aussie pal Lizzy got a pressie from me. Here she is photographed with her box of word diecuts! Yes, it was hours of hard work cranking those out with my trusty Cuttlebug machine...but I had help from my intern (aka niece) of course. *winks*

Lunch was in a lovely courtyard..so I got to create my "scene" with butterflies and clouds. You know I love being extra. *hehehe*

And of course, with Round 1 being so yummy, we went for Round 2. Total necessity.;) *high fives all around*

Here is a closeup view of the food. Clearly we have to head back to try the rest of the yummy desserts. Hopefully soon. *Cautiously optimistic music plays in the background*

P/s: Now that we are spending more time at home, what are the projects you are hoping to complete?

Paper scraps on a tag

So I've been really into making tags in my bid to really use up my paper scraps.:)

Like most of my projects, nothing is planned. I just dig through my paper scrap pile, pull up something interesting...and try to piece together something somewhat decent. *winks*

I incorporated a mini envelope on my tag so that I could put in a little note for the recipient.

Do you think it's cute?

Make Stuff Monday - Another quick decorated paper bag

Well friends, I'm slowly making my way through my stash of paper bags. Here is another quick decorated paper bag.:)

I started with this sturdy white paper bag with silvery grey bag handles.

I measured, cut and adhered the paisley patterned paper to the bag, then added white lace trim along the edges.

Next, I tied a bow with lace, then dressed it up further with a crochet doiley and a heart bling. I love the white on white on white. *winks*

I think it turned out quite pretty...what do you think?
