Well, well, well, it's been 2 months since I last drew an eye... So I had to start a new sketchbook. *winks*
This one is technically not a sketchbook but more like a notebook. Really thin pages. So it's going to be fun using mostly dry media. :)

Another double pager from the 2026 gratitude journal
I got this really cool vase back in March and finally got to use it! Completely obsessed!
Also, finally started using a brand new blush from a Pat McGrath event I attended a year ago. Don't know why I was "saving" it...so glad I used it - such a pretty and intense colour.
Tuesday
The Yams' first pottery class
Yep...the Yams went for their first pottery class on Saturday. *happy music plays in the background*
The class was small - 2 other ladies along with us. The instructor gave us a 20 minute demonstration and then we went to play!
It wasn't particularly hard but it wasn't that easy either. The instructor had to make her rounds to "save" our pieces! *LOL*
Each of us made a cup, a bowl and a plate after 3 hours of play! The studio will fire and glaze the pieces...we will get them in 8-12 weeks.
Lots of packaging for the mat and the tabs...and Miffy cutout. The Canon Selphy printer had new photo frame designs...so I had to use them. :)

Another day exploring Tianjin
Can you spot the fussy-cut flowers from my artwork? Just wanted to use them because there were so many pretty flowers in Tianjin. :)
Kept the photos all the same size so it didn't need to be another double page spread. *LOL*
Mixing my own fussy-cut elements with stickers, twine and bling for added interest.
Made some boo boos on this page and had to cover up..can you spot them? *winks*
Forgot how fun it is to work on a grid-style layout...this turned out quite decent. :)

Workspace Wednesday - a pretty thing on a gloomy day
Not sure if you've heard but Singapore is now the most polluted country in the world. The haze is back and it's been really bad. And likely to persist till December. But I still have to head outdoors for a hit of morning sunlight to set my circadian clock (I try my best to hold my breath...*LOL*)...and of course got to see this pretty thing. My hibiscus that took a year to grow from a stem cutting...is now constantly blooming. :)

Family vacation in Tianjin- double page spread
So we took a train from Beijing to visit a nearby city - Tianjin. We took so many photos so I had to do a double page spread. :)
The train ride was really comfortable and I really enjoyed the Tianjin architecture which is a mix of traditional Chinese structures and European-style buildings.
The night scene was beautiful and we stayed at a lovely hotel too.:)
Kept everything fairly simple...so the photos are the focal point.
Though I just got some cute stickers and decided to use them...*LOL*

Finally got round to cutting up my huge stack of watercolour practice blooms to use on my projects. You know I try to waste nothing. *LOL*
Some of these leaves and blooms already made it on an upcoming layout. *winks*

Pages from the Gratitude Journal - new oven gloves
Can't believe that we are into the last few months of 2026. The third quarter was a blur for me as I had to deal with a personal health issue. But I'm on the mend now so definitely looking forward to finishing the year on a much happier note. :)
Just a fun spread in my gratitude journal to celebrate my new oven gloves! I scored a set of Staub cotton oven gloves at a really great price. As you know, this girl loves a good bargain. :)

What the Yams ate - July 2026 edition
So the girl is still cooking...just haven't been taking photos before the food gets eaten. *winks*
I look after two old folks so I prioritise protein - usually each meal has at least one animal protein and one plant protein (natto and endamame are things that can be added to a meal easily), a mix of colourful veggies and herbs (focusing more on variety than quantity), a variety of seasonal fruits and a bean/collagen dessert (for general well-being and more protein).
As always, packaging material...kraft packaging paper, tabs from box packaging and packaging ribbon.
I need to document more home-cooked meals...more every day moments. :)

A page from the gratitude journal - new YSL lipstick
This year has been pretty much about using the stuff I have before acquiring anything new. Like this YSL lipstick that I had been hoarding for no good reason. I obviously bought it because I like the colour so why was I not using it? So I did and I love it! :)

Workspace Wednesday - packaging as tabs
Hello friends! You know on the tabs on my layouts and projects? Yep, I use packaging boxes for them. They come in a variety of colours and sizes and are great for adding a little detail to a corner....perhaps as a mat for a sticker or just a space to write the date/location. :)
