Make Stuff Monday - a birthday card for a centenarian

My pal Amy Tsuruta's ex mother-in-law is officially a centenarian! She's hoping to collect 100 cards from friends all over the world to celebrate Melva's 100th birthday. Of course I had to join in the fun and send her a card. I was told she likes blue and purple. :)

Make Stuff Monday - back to upcycled decorated paper bag

It has been a while since I decorated a paper bag. Still one of my fave projects to do...and give away. :)

This one is all pink and super girly. Even took out my white acrylic marker for faux stitching. And yes, still finished with shimmering mist of course.

Hope August has been good to you so far.

Make Stuff Monday - upcycled matcha whisk container

I'm old school when it comes to making matcha. I love getting out my ceramic chawan and bamboo whisk to make my matcha latte. Unfortunately no matter how careful you are, the bamboo whisk needs to get replaced every 6 months or so. My recent matcha whisk came in a sturdy cardboard container...which makes for a lovely up cycling project! *high fives all around*

Even got to decorate the top of the container. It turned out really pretty! :)

Make Stuff Monday - sticking stickers is my creative time too

These days creative time is hard to come by so I'll take sticking my cute Miffy stickers on my wireless earpiece as my creative time. After all, there were important decisions to be made regarding which cute Miffy to use to best cover up the brand name (yep...one of those corporate gifts). :)

Make Stuff Monday - upcycled black paper bag

Been really diligent about using up packaging in my projects these days...can you spot the packaging bits? *winks*

1. The white tab...cardboard packaging from skincare.

2. The patterned base paper with lace design...packaging from art supplies

3. The fussy-cut girl...packaging from art supplies.

Did you get them right? :)

Make Stuff Monday - quick projects

Got this little notebook and skincare envelope recently. Had to decorate them of course. *winks*

This semi-translucent envelope is perfect for gifting little scraps bits like diecuts and stickers for a creative friend.

This tiny notebook is great for little notes on the go. :)

Happy week ahead friends!

Make Stuff Monday - decorated kraft paper bag window scene

I have had this paper for like forever but never could make it work for a layout. Decided to cut it up to create a window scene on this Kraft paper bag. I think it turned out quite pretty. :)

Make Stuff Monday - another bubble wrap mailer

Remember last week's bubble mailer project using the fancy Bacha biscuit box? Well, I had some leftover and incorporated it into this week's bubble wrap mailer project.  :)

Still trying to include as much packaging as possible...

This one came together quickly and I love how it turned out. :)

Make Stuff Monday - this week's upcyled bubble mailer

These days I've been getting some really fun coloured bubble mailers from my online purchases. So I've been upcycling them for happy mail. Since it's a new year, I've decided to do more with my packaging materials.

Like this Bacha biscuit packaging. I love the design of the borders with the gold trim. Such a waste to just put it in the recycle bin.

Here is how it looked midway. I love using box flaps as tabs on my projects (have you noticed? *winks*)

Added some scrap paper to cover the text on the box.

Created a space for the recipient's name and address. And finished off with cute stickers that match the colour of the bubble mailer.

What do you think?

Make Stuff Monday 2026 - decorated bubble envelope

Happy new year friends! Hope you've had time to rest, recalibrate and set to make 2026 the best year yet. :)

Of course with all the holiday buying, the girl has a stash of stuff to upcycle...like this pink bubble envelope. The pink patterned paper is actually thin cardboard packaging. Added a ribbon tab and washi tape. And went crazy with the stickers in my stash.

I think it turned out really sweet. What do you think?

Make Stuff Monday - another simple Xmas giftwrap

Happy Monday friends! I've been really having fun with simple gift wrapped pressies this year. They are quick to do, lets me use my new stash along with the old and are flat for easy transport. :)

P/s: Are you all set for Christmas?

Make Stuff Monday - this week's really sweet decorated paper bag

Really wanted to play with some pastels...

Which worked in contrast with the paper bag I had. :)

Just a mix of textures for interest....

Finished with a little shimmer mist of course. :)

Make Stuff Monday - Xmas pressie and matching paper bag

Happy Monday friends! Getting on with the Xmas projects....Xmas pressie and matching paper bag. Keeping things flat so nothing falls off before Xmas! *winks*

P/s: How cute is that wrapping paper?

Make Stuff Monday - decorated Xmas box

There are few stores locally selling scrapbook paper these days so I've gone for Christmas wrapping paper instead.

The only downside is that it is super thin, tears easily and shows wet glue marks.

So I used dry adhesive to stick it down then reinforce the sides with trusty washi tape...which doubles as a lovely border design.

What do you think?

Make Stuff Monday - fun decorated upcycled envelope

Happy Monday friends! Here is this week's Make Stuff Monday project - a fin decorated upcycled envelope! :)

Can you tell where the envelope was from?

It's actually the sample envelope from Kiehl's that I've been upcycling for years. I usually cover the whole thing up with a piece of patterned paper. This time I decided to use the border on the envelope as part of my design to "frame my scene".  I think it turned out quite decent. What do you think?
