Another week, another Santa tag

Well friends, let's end the week with another Santa tag, shall we? *winks*

Another quick tag with paper scraps from the Christmas pile...

And some stickers....:)

Happy weekend friends! :)

A Santa tag

Just a quick Santa tag to share today! :)

I'm currently working on my Christmas projects from a box of paper scraps that I've customized to be "Christmas-themed" (I threw in all stuff that can possibly be tweaked for a Christmas project - red, green, gold paper scraps, glitter cardstock, chipboard and stickers) which makes putting everything together really fast. :)

Happy weekend friends!

Rise and grind tag

Hello friends! Just a quick tag to share today...

The base is a leather tag that I embellished with bits and bobs from the stash on my desk.:)

Happy Thursday!

Dream a little dream tag...and a little update

How are you doing my friends?

Here in Singapore, today marks the first day of a month-long partial "lockdown" termed officially as a "circuit-breaker" to curb community spread of the COVID-19 virus. Everything is shut down except for essential services (food, banking, postal). We can only interact with family members within our households. Except for exercise, seeking medical treatment, buying takeaway food and groceries, everyone is advised to stay home.

The news was announced on Friday afternoon and hundreds were queuing at Ikea over the weekend for furniture (most people are working from home and kids are doing e-learning) and Swedish meatballs, ignoring social distancing of course. *rolls eyes at socially irresponsible people*

Meanwhile, your friend here is still working hard on using her paper scraps and watching Korean dramas on Netflix. At this rate, it is likely that Korean would be the next language she picks up. *winks*

How are things on your end?

This week's quick mish mash tag

I have been having fun playing with patterns while using up my paper scraps. Little bits and bobs that are too small to make an impact on a 12x12 layout packs a punch on a much smaller tag....like this one.

Meet this week's quick mish mash tag! :)

This week's quick tag

In case you were wondering, I just found a pack of 6x6 white smooth cardstock in my stash...and have just been obsessed with making cards and tags with them as a base and packing them on with bits from my paper scrap pile. :)

The top portion of the tag was put together with bits from some happy mail. I added a lace overlay over the patterned paper and quite like the pretty effect. :)

Anyway, just wanted to check in with you my friends....how are you doing in your part of the world?

Singapore is not in a lockdown but we've seen a spike in the number of COVID 19 cases in the last week due to Singaporean students returning from universities in Europe and US.  Also, idiots continued to party at night spots and other entertainment centres, ignoring the government's plea to avoid crowded places. As a result, from Friday 27 March, all these entertainment places will be closed until the end of April, all eating places have to reduce the number of seating for social distancing, all after-school curricular activities have been suspended and there should no gatherings of more than 10 people at any one time, including family members in your own home. Yep, no religious services of any kind too. Malls can be open but must allow 16 square metres of space between customers (which pretty much means all small stores can only have 1 customer in the store at any one time because rental here is high so shops are tiny). Don't you just hate when the entire society has to pay for the inconsiderate few who engage in socially irresponsible behaviour? We've had a few clusters that were totally preventable. And 2 panic buying situations so far.

What's the situation like in your neck of the woods?

Paper scraps on a tag

So I've been really into making tags in my bid to really use up my paper scraps.:)

Like most of my projects, nothing is planned. I just dig through my paper scrap pile, pull up something interesting...and try to piece together something somewhat decent. *winks*

I incorporated a mini envelope on my tag so that I could put in a little note for the recipient.

Do you think it's cute?

The tag with recycled elements from previous projects

The-tag-with-recycled-elements-from-previous-projects

So you know I've told you time and time again that I can never find the cards I've made when I really needed them? Well, the other day I did. They were actually neatly tucked in a box, somewhat in an organized fashion *winks*.

I had fun looking through my old creations even though I mostly cringed at the lack of "skill" in my early crafting days (Who can relate? *lol*). Anyway, I kept some that I might actually use and recycled the elements on the rest of them....

Meet my tag with recycled elements from previous projects! ;)

P/s: Hope you are having a great week so far!

Tag on a gift box

Tag-on-a-gift-box-by-Yvonne-Yam-for-Maya-Road

Sometimes when you are pressed for time, all you need is a decorated tag to "dress up" your gift box. [Says the person who is still frantically wrapping Christmas pressies at the moment. *LOL*]

Never mind that I bought the gifts months ago and started decorated my gift boxes months ago...I am not ahead in the game my friends. Anyone in the same sorry state? *panic mode*

Just a super quick tag on a gift box project for Maya Road. It's a great way for the recipient to re-use the gift box and the tag. :)

Have you noticed how much I enjoy clustering my embellishments? *winks*

Love-always-tag

I love clustering my embellishments. A lot. Have you noticed? *winks*

I love rummaging through my stash and picking out embellishments that might look good together in a cluster.

I've long given up on rationalizing what actually goes in a cluster. Like what has a flower got to do with wooden spools, right? *LOL*

What I do like is combining dimensional elements with textural ones....

How about you? Do you enjoy clustering your embellishments?

Travel-inspired tag

Travelinspired-tag

Did you know that I have a thing for travel-inspired ephemera? Map paper, cameras, globes....are just some of the things I collect and hoard. *winks*

I did, however, take some out for this travel-inspired tag, which I thought would be great on a gift bag for someone who's taking a trip somewhere. :)

I started with a cardboard base as always. Then I added some polka-dotted patterned paper (from the scrap pile of course!), scrap ribbon from a patisserie purchase and finished with Maya Road embellishments.

Do you collect travel-inspired ephemera?
