Make Stuff Monday - upcycled matcha whisk container

I'm old school when it comes to making matcha. I love getting out my ceramic chawan and bamboo whisk to make my matcha latte. Unfortunately no matter how careful you are, the bamboo whisk needs to get replaced every 6 months or so. My recent matcha whisk came in a sturdy cardboard container...which makes for a lovely up cycling project! *high fives all around*

Even got to decorate the top of the container. It turned out really pretty! :)

Make Stuff Monday - upcycled black paper bag

Been really diligent about using up packaging in my projects these days...can you spot the packaging bits? *winks*

1. The white tab...cardboard packaging from skincare.

2. The patterned base paper with lace design...packaging from art supplies

3. The fussy-cut girl...packaging from art supplies.

Did you get them right? :)

Tuesday

This week's really sweet upcycled paper bag project

Really love this paper bag from Nespresso for their 40th anniversary...a lovely coral shade.

Decided to try the "add stuff as you go" approach so that's my excuse if the embellishments seem random. *LOL*

Got some packaging bits in..used up some of my stash...and this bag is on its way to its recipient....so all is good. :)

Hope your week is going well. We can't control the chaos in the world right now...the only thing we can do is make every living day a little better than the last, right? :)

Thursday

Thursday's desk - another altered paper bag

I recently attended a Caudalie skincare event and got this really sturdy purple paper bag. Needless to say, I got right to covering up the printed brand name on the paper bag and making it my own...*LOL*

Using bits from packaging as always...

Went with a white mat to coordinate with the base patterned paper.

Make Stuff Monday - quick projects

Got this little notebook and skincare envelope recently. Had to decorate them of course. *winks*

This semi-translucent envelope is perfect for gifting little scraps bits like diecuts and stickers for a creative friend.

This tiny notebook is great for little notes on the go. :)

Happy week ahead friends!

Tuesday's upcycled decorated paper bag project

Back to playing with some patterns...will this be the year that I finally use up my 12x12 patterned paper stash? *winks*

Lots of fun upcycled stuff on the decorative cluster...

Happy week ahead friends!:)

February's quick decorated envelope project

Just a quick decorated envelope project to share. :)

Really love these receipt envelopes from Senreve, a US-based brand with leather goods made in Italy and Spain.  However, this would be the last of the envelopes because I won't be buying from them anymore. A leather belt I bought came apart after 3 wears and they offered me a 20% refund and googled some places in Singapore for me to get it fixed (the refund can't cover it). Life is short..let's not put up with lousy customer retention practices.

Anyway, tomorrow is Li Chun which marks the beginning of spring ...so I'm going enjoy all that the new season brings!:)

A quick flat decorated envelope project

Fancy paper can instantly transform a plain Kraft envelope into something quite striking eh? Also happy to use the black cardboard packaging for my border...really helps to frame the design. :)

Make Stuff Monday - another bubble wrap mailer

Remember last week's bubble mailer project using the fancy Bacha biscuit box? Well, I had some leftover and incorporated it into this week's bubble wrap mailer project.  :)

Still trying to include as much packaging as possible...

This one came together quickly and I love how it turned out. :)

A red upcycled decorated paper bag

Got this red paper bag and thought it would be fun to play with reds and pinks. :)

Created a fun little "scene" with a girl cutout sticker.

My fave ribbon tab element, along with an embossed seal sticker in hot pink to contrast against the red background.

Happy Tuesday friends!

Make Stuff Monday - this week's upcyled bubble mailer

These days I've been getting some really fun coloured bubble mailers from my online purchases. So I've been upcycling them for happy mail. Since it's a new year, I've decided to do more with my packaging materials.

Like this Bacha biscuit packaging. I love the design of the borders with the gold trim. Such a waste to just put it in the recycle bin.

Here is how it looked midway. I love using box flaps as tabs on my projects (have you noticed? *winks*)

Added some scrap paper to cover the text on the box.

Created a space for the recipient's name and address. And finished off with cute stickers that match the colour of the bubble mailer.

What do you think?

Make Stuff Monday 2026 - decorated bubble envelope

Happy new year friends! Hope you've had time to rest, recalibrate and set to make 2026 the best year yet. :)

Of course with all the holiday buying, the girl has a stash of stuff to upcycle...like this pink bubble envelope. The pink patterned paper is actually thin cardboard packaging. Added a ribbon tab and washi tape. And went crazy with the stickers in my stash.

I think it turned out really sweet. What do you think?
