The one about the Big Breakfast

The-one-about-the-big-breakfast

So the other day we went to McDonald's for breakfast and mum tried Big Breakfast for the first time.

When it came, she was most disappointed. She said it looked pathetic and unappetising. Plus it came cold because they didn't heat it up! *horror*

Here she is looking much happier after they came back with a slightly better version. *LOL*

Is the Big Breakfast in your region much more appetising than in Singapore? It's $7plus for the meal. Such a rip-off in my opinion for what you get. *LOL*

Playing with The Studio Challenges gold challenge. The patterned paper has gold-embossed details. I also added gold washi tape and gold brads.

Happy weekend friends!

Die-cuts on a Christmas card

Diecuts-on-a-Christmas-card

These days I've been really gravitating towards die-cuts on projects because they add texture and interest without bulk.  Which makes them much more postal friendly too...perfect for this year's Christmas cards. :)

Playing along with Sunday Stamps

Happy weekend friends! :)

Get grungy with Erika Taylor!

My guest today is layer queen Erika Taylor of Taylord Concepts! I "met" Erika last year through Gauche Alchemy and I'm a fan of her super textured and layered style. She's a master with glimmer mists and paints.... and mixes the grungy and the pretty oh so very well. Erika's hosting a challenge and daring all of us to play along! With a fabulous prize for the winner! :) Game? Read on...

Let's have a look at her cool creations!

************************************************************

There is something so freeing and truly beautiful about sitting down to create. Whether a paper card or a canvas, it does not matter. What matters is the freedom and fulfillment you get while you create.
Hi Everyone, I’m Erika Taylor and I’m so blessed to have this opportunity to share with you a little of my artistic life with you on Yvonne’s blog. I am so thankful for the chance and was tickled pink when Yvonne asked me to contribute. A little about me, I’m a wife to a wonderfully supportive and loving man Mark, who always comments about my crafting and notices when I change things up. I’m a mom to two wonderful children who love spending time in my craft room with me. I have always loved crafting ever since I was a wee girl. Making paper clip jewelry to construction paper fridge art, if I could create something, I would. My mother is very artistic and I’m blessed to have received that gift from her.
I started out 3+ years ago creating cards and was instantly hooked. The options were astounding and I loved how things just came together. I’m a layer queen and love piling layer after layer after layer onto a project. This is where my design team days started and I’ve been so super duper fortunate to be on some amazing teams over the past 2 years. Currently I am on the Nikki Sivils, Helmar Adhesive, Tattered Angels, Kiki Art, Say it With Letters, Frantic Stamper, Really Reasonable Ribbon, and PSA Essentials design teams. I’ve guest designed for quite a few great companies as well and I’m looking forward to guesting with Sparkle N Sprinkle as well as Darkroom Door soon.

Now back to my journey, I then started branching out to altered art and I’m more in love with creating now than ever before. Mixing Glimmer Mists, paints and art mediums is my big thing right now and thanks to being on the Tattered Angels Design team, I get to experiment a LOT!!! Pair that with being a glue nut (thanks Helmar) and you’ve got yourself a bonified CRAFT JUNKIE!!! What can I say, I love being busy and when I’m under the gun and have a bunch of deadlines, and I work really well.
I never plan a project ahead of time, I just let the cards fall where they may. When it is done, IT’S DONE!!! I don’t over think and I’ve been blessed with an eye for color. (again thank you mom ~hugs~).

With all that said, I’ve got a challenge for all of you. I want to see a project from you that gets down and dirty!!! Something that is distressed, drippy, paint splatters and all. Try mixing those Glimmer Mists and crackle paints. If you come up with mud, go with it!!! And Yvonne I dare you to play along!!! I wanna see you rock out a grungy project. Like dirty, grungy Nirvana!!! Come on, you can do it.

For a little inspiration, a little Grunge Project from Lil Me.

*************************************************************

Is Erika daring me to try grunge???? It's time to bring out the big guns.....[dramatic music plays in the background] ...as in my paints and paintbrushes...*LOL* Will you join me? Link up your distressed creations using InLinkz (located at the end of the post) by Friday, February 25.

As always, please leave a little love for my guest Erika. :)

A sweet meal

Love these pictures of my parents enjoying a sweet meal on their wedding day.

I did a little misting (green) on the patterned paper (GCD Studios) and also misted on the black cardstock (silver). Part of the titlework was stamped with Making Memories foam stamps and paint, handstitched and then mounted on 3D dots. American Crafts foam letters. The lovely felt flowers were from my sweet friend Mirjam...:)

Entourage

Entourage

This layout was a request by my friend Carrie (and seconded by Maggi) ...for me to do a layout entitled "Entourage" and featuring my two Shitzus - Joey and Chandler (yes, they were named after characters from Friends). I'm not a famous star (lol) so my entourage consists of just these two cuties... who follow me around when they want to go out and hang on to my every word when I'm holding their favourite snack (ready to give me their paw while salivating that is...:)

Patterned paper: Stemma, Maya mists, chipboard leaves: Fancy Pants, stickers (American Crafts, Adorn It & Studio Calico) and some handstiching...based on the sketch by Creative Scrappers. Pin It

My guilty pleasure

My guilty pleasure

Oh yes. I confess. My guilty pleasure is entertainment news. I love to watch it and read about it. I may not believe everything I hear or read but I'm secretly happy to know that celebrities aren't "perfect". I don't appreciate the methods the paparazzi use to get the so-called scoops but I enjoy seeing pictures of "stars without makeup" or how the celebrities have to starve themselves to look good for a premiere...Poor things...all the money and they can't eat what they want and pay trainers to torture them...haha! (insert evil laugh here)... What's your guilty pleasure?

Just a little misting on cardstock, lace, lovely 7Gypsies velvet flower (thanks Amy!), American Crafts letters, Kaiser Craft paper (babuska doll), We R Memory Keepers gromlet...

The one who peed on me

The one who peed on me

Meet J, the one who peed on me. You would think that after 3 nephews, I would be an expert on diaper changing, never mind that it typically happens just once a week...surely, I would be fast enough to avoid all accidents of such nature in the changing process. But no, this third one is the charmer...he smiles so sweetly at you that you are momentarily distracted from the task at hand and hence... get peed on...:( He is however, not the first boy to pee on me. His daddy, my own brother, peed on me when we were kids (on purpose, I must add!)...J was apparently, continuing the legacy...

You can now seriously laugh out loud....:0

Just some masking (Tim Holtz) and misting (Maya mists)...:) American Crafts vinyl stickers...journaling printed on transparency.

Inspired by this week's sketch at Creative Scrappers.
