My first Christmas card of 2021

Happy Friday friends! May I present to you my first Christmas card of 2021? *winks*

Gotta say that the bulk of the card was already done by someone else. The Christmas tree with the pressies along with all the cute shaker bits were part of a pocket letter I got years ago. It was stitched up so beautifully that it did not make sense to take it apart. So I added a coordinating patterned paper to cardstock and just glued the whole pocket on top of it. Even the matching washi tape was part of that happy mail. But I did add a ribbon tab and a gift bow to make it a little more me? *LOL*

Well, I did get off my lazy butt to use a corner rounder...that's effort! Hahaha!

I think this turned out quite pretty. And will be making someone else happy this Christmas. Gotta make sure that I don't send it back to the person who sent me the pocket letter though.....that would be embarrassing. Hehehe..

Enjoy your weekend friends!

Friday's Eco Tip: Repurposing old makeup supplies for art usage

Well friends, you know I have been on a makeup craze for a while now...and have inadvertently amassed a stash of used makeup supplies. Since I paid quite a pretty penny for some of these supplies, I like to extend my "investment" by repurposing them for art.

Makeup sponges are pretty expensive considering how often you have to replace them (once every 3 months) so I use them to dab on colorants or spread paint.

I have never ever finished an entire tube of mascara in the stipulated 3 months so I never buy them. Somehow though, they are often included in gifts with purchases. *winks* I wash out the wands to use for creating fun textures or paint splatters on my mixed media pieces.

Likewise, I have never finished a liquid liner by its 3 month mark either. So I just use them as non-permanent ink pens on my projects. The fine brush tips are very easy to control and write with. :)

Lastly I like to keep all my eyeliner/lip pencil caps...they make great pencil extenders and pencil covers to keep pencil points sharp.

Happy weekend friends!:)

Friday's Eco-Tip: Don't throw out those tea bags!

I am an avid tea drinker as you can see from the photo. At least two cups a day and more on weekends when I'm at home. My fave tea is Earl Grey. And I drink camomile tea every night before bed. :)

Once I'm done drinking my tea, I dry my teabags and save them for the plants in the garden. I mix the tea leaves in the compost as a natural fertilizer and use the tea bags to cover the holes in the pots. The strings and tea bag labels are tucked into my layouts. *winks*

P/s: Coffee grounds make great fertilizer too!
