Thursday

Rise and grind tag

Hello friends! Just a quick tag to share today...

The base is a leather tag that I embellished with bits and bobs from the stash on my desk.:)

Happy Thursday!

Yep...the owl loves to drink tea too *winks*

I'm a huge tea drinker...and apparently the owl on my card loves to drink tea too. *winks*

Found a bunch of fussy-cut cups in my stash and created a few (or more...hehehe) projects using them. :)

Make Stuff Monday - Coffee Lovers edition

Hello friends! Today's Make Stuff Monday is another mini decorated file folder - Coffee Lovers edition. :)

It only took me less than a year to finally get into the CUTplorations coffee-inspired dies I got last year...*hehehe*

Love a pun-ny sentiment. *winks*

I was tempted to use all the die-cuts from the set but settled for just 2. *LOL*

The coffee cup is a Maya Road wood veneer embellished with patterned paper, twine and bling.

Card for 2019 Spring/summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

So I found another freebie card in my stash and decided to whip out a quick card for the 2019 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. (See previous post: what I did to a "free" card.)

Here's how the card looked like before I glued stuff on it....*winks*

I challenged myself to reuse stuff I got as part of some happy mail. :)

Hope you are having a great weekend so far!

A quick upcycled Christmas gift box

A-quick-upcycled-Christmas-gift-box

So the other day my sister happily passed me 3 of these cute empty cardboard boxes.

"I know you like empty boxes." she said.
"Eh...no. I like to upcycle boxes. But I would prefer them with gifts in them actually." I replied.

*LOL*

Oh well. The box is perfect for little Christmas gifts....like a mug with a hot chocolate + marshmallow pack. :)

A Christmas card for the Coffee Lovers Winter Blog Hop

A-Christmas-card-for-the-Coffee-Lovers-Blog-Hop

So, the Christmas presents/cards have been given out/mailed this week. It was not looking so good earlier...*LOL* I even had time to whip out a Christmas card for the Coffee Lovers Winter Blog Hop. :)

This card came together quickly...I went with this Maya Road wood coffee cup as my "focal" point and just pulled together matching patterned papers.

Next I went into my diecut box for the sentiment and added some silver twine and bling for texture.

Happy weekend friends!

A fall-inspired tag

A-fall-inspired-tag

Hello friends! I'm currently working on using up my chipboard stash (yay, go me!). My chipboard collection gets quite a bit of usage first as "stencils"  for my mixed media projects before they end up as dimensional pieces on my projects. Do you do that too?

As always, my tag base is cardboard from packaging. I glued 2 pieces together for a sturdy base before covering the front and back with paper scraps and painting with a layer of gesso.

When the gesso layer was dry, I went in with some mists in fall-inspired colours.

And since I was playing along with the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, I had to add in my Maya Road wood token with a coffee cup, nestled between fall leaves.  *winks*

I finished off with a Maya Road diecut hello and some pretty trim.

These are some of my fave colours to use on projects and I love how it turned out - perfect for adorning a gift bag of coffee beans, tea bags or hot chocolate.

Happy week ahead friends!

Hello sunshine...card for 2017 Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello-sunshine-Coffee-Lovers-

So I visited an organic coffee farm when I was in Bali two weeks ago.

It was an interesting experience for a new coffee drinker like me - learning about harvesting the coffee beans, processing, drying and roasting.

Of course, Indonesia is most famous for Kopi Luwak - coffee that includes partly digested coffee cherries eaten and defecated by the Asian Palm Civet. I saw some of the civets in cages and they looked so sad. Apparently, with the popularity of Kopi Luwak, wild civets are greatly hunted and housed in small cages. Really cruel.

So I'll be sticking to my regular animal cruelty-free coffee.

A tag for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop...:)

A-tag-for-the-Winter-Coffee-Lovers-bloghop

I've really been enjoying mixing and matching the Maya Road diecuts on my cards/tags and slipped one in for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop too.:)

I started with a cardboard base which I covered with lace from an old bra. I added some sparkly glitter paint for a festive vibe.

I really wanted to add the deer diecut on my "overdone" tag....but had to settle for a deer head on my coffee cup because there was no more space! *LOL*

Happy weekend friends! :)

A card for the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

A-card-for-the-Fall-Coffee-Lovers-Blog-Hop

I decided to whip up a quick card today to play along with the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. Any excuse to use my new coffee inspired dies from Maya Road. *winks*

Yes, the disparate elements are all from my scrap pile...[which is slowly dwindling... I may be in denial...haha]

Happy weekend friends! :)
