Ever thought your finished project just needed a little extra something, then proceeded to add that "extra something" and have it pretty much backfire on you?
Well, this was mine.
The 30-minute layout that became a 60-minute horror show....
I started with a little grid stamping with my new distress paint on the background, then proceeded to lay my photos and embellishments.
Then I thought I should add some stamping to tone down all the orange. After the first stamping, I realized that I stamped the text upside down [yeah...it just got more messy!]. At this point, I was feeling like the lead actress in a crafting horror show...*LOL*
In the end, I added some fiber paste with a stencil and finished with distress glitter. Glitter always saves the day! :)
What about you? Ever been the lead in your own craft horror show? Join me, I'm an A lister...*LOL*
Playing along with the glitter challenge at The Studio Challenges...I used stickles and sequins.

Yes sometimes I tend to overdo embellishments and realize less is more .
LOL! And I'm only laughing because I've been there-- done that! You are not alone!
I love this page-- I love the stamping and the distress paints! My eye moves around this page--over and over--so much to see! Great details! LOVE it <3
Great job! I did actually have a horror show last week! I had a layout for the challenge "SATW" and I stuffed it up with black Dylusions ink! In a big way! I couldn't salvage anything and it ended up in the bin! That hadn't happened in a very very long time! Lol!
Heehee! Sooo not on your own...but it looks great & I like the orange circles & who SAID writing should be the right way up, anyway????!!!!!
Happens to me all the time - I never know when to stop is the problem OR I'll use the wrong colour mist or paint & have to keep adding to fix it!!!!
Really agree with Lizzy Hill....whosoever says writing can be right way up only does not know about 'creative license'!!
I think it turned out great! I love all the orange circles.
You are crazy!! Before I read about the horror show... lol... I was going to totally comment that I LOVED the circles!! HA!!! I think it turned out amazing!! I am loving the hearts and the SRM goodies too!!!!
Well "A Comedy of Errors" turned out fabulous! Love it :-)
It is so nice to hear that it is not only me that does things like that. I love the orange circles... such a pretty layout.
FABULOUS lo! Love the pic in the circle on the camera in front of the other two pics. Great background......all comes together so nicely!
He..he..Lead actress in crafting horror show ..LOL..!! I loved the orange circles n was wondering what you must have used for stamping them..before I began reading the post..upside down text is unique Yvonne something different :D ! This crafting horror happen often with me...outcome ending in bin :D !!
And this is why my photos are the last thing to go down! I love the orange dots and didn't even notice the text was upside down.
I think it's gorgeous!! The orange circles look fabulous!! I never would have noticed the upside down stamping (which I have done on sadly more than one occasion!!) It's fabulous!! Have a great day :)

awesome layout.. love those added hearts..
Gorgeous! Love that chipboard title too!
HaHa, yes, I do that all the time......think I need to do just one more little thing, and I end up almost ripping the whole thing apart...:) But you never know until you try, right? And I think your "horror show" is absolutely adorable!
I think it looks fab, Yvonne!! I love the effect you got with the dauber, and I do have to admit that Orange is my favorite colors, so I think you can never have too much Orange!! :)
Haha you are so funny Yvonne!! I felt the same way about my chipboard layout with all the gold gears. Took me 4 hours & looked cheap & kitschy at the end of it! I guess we are getting our therapy enjoying the process!!!
Oooh, I love what you did with this layout. Your color choices are fantastic. Every tine I see one of your scrapbook pages I'm reminded that I need to put some effort into preserving my memories. Sigh....but thanks for inspiring me.
This is a fun layout, love all the details.
another amazing background!! love the LO!
Such a pretty and whimsy page ♥ Thanks for playing at The Studio Challenges ♥ Petra
I think of us have these horror events, but seriously love your LO. I often will think one more thing (normally in the paint splatter and totally stuff up a LO right at the end). I no longer do it!! LOL
LOVE your freedom to just have fun and go with the flow! And that glitter... Swoon! LOVE!
