Tuesday

This week's bird drawing from the birdie playbook

Can you believe we are in the second half of the year? Let's get back to the birdie playbook. :)

Did the base sketch and first layer with coloured pencils, intensified the colours with Faber Castle Gelatos and finished with a Posca white acrylic paint pen for highlights.

Still trying to get the bird proportions right...but that will come with practice.:)

Happy Tuesday friends!

This week's eye drawings from the toned tan sketchbook

Still trying to get the hang of working on toned tan paper for my eye drawings...

I do enjoy the depth I can achieve with a few more layers. :)

Monday

Another week, more birdies from the playbook

In case you were wondering, I tore some pages from an old cheap sketchbook and just glued them on my birdie playbook. It's thicker than the notepaper with a little bit of tooth but of course, not the best quality. You can see some peeling from areas where I added too much water. But I love that I "saved" the page with a mix of mediums. I forgot how fun it was to experiment!

Happy week ahead friends! :)

Mixed Media Monday - sweetheart paper bag

Happy Monday friends! Getting back into Mixed Media Monday with a decorated sweetheart paper bag!:)

Didn't feel like digging through my paper scraps so I just went with random stuff around my desk..even took out some highly-neglected coloured mists, buttons and bling. Note to self: It was fun...do it again soon!

Adventures in mixed media - my first painted dessert

I've been really getting back into mixed media the past two weeks...playing with watercolours, coloured pencils and white acrylic marker. Decided that I would attempt a variety of different things..girls, dog, bird and now my first painted dessert! :)

I really enjoy this coffee and cheese flan with fresh fruits that get to savour when I dine at Vietnam House in Ho Chi Minh City.:)

Happy weekend friends!

Eye drawings in a new sketchbook

Took a little break from the eye drawings...then started again in a brand new sketchbook! :)

For this sketchbook, I decided to take my time with each drawing...to see if I can render more details and depth. :)

Happy weekend friends!

Friday's Workspace - the week in eye drawings

These days I've been mostly doing eye drawings and portrait sketches...haven't had time for much else. I limit myself to 30 minutes for each so if I struggle with one, it ends up with less depth and details. And it's become too pricey to use a Posca white paint marker for my highlights since I do draw quite a fair bit. I actually use a white correction pen (it lasts much longer ;).

Enjoy your weekend friends! :)
