So I spent the weekend watching the Revenge marathon....

Darling be mine

Hello friends! Did you have a great weekend? Mine was spent glued to the television watching the Revenge marathon. *sigh* I tend to find scheming by the rich particularly enticing since I'm no trust fund baby...*LOL*

I did manage to make this card between episodes though...inspired by the challenges at Card Patterns, Moxie Fab World and City Crafter Challenge. The base is a Maya Road kraft envelope.

Supplies: Maya Road kraft envelop, Ranger distress ink, Crate Paper patterned paper and sticker, lace, photo turns, brads, ticket, thread.

* Edited* My card was picked as one of the 10 winners out of 806 entries over at Moxie Fab World! :)

Just sharing a really sweet and pink upcycled project. :) The round tin was upcycled from American Crafts packaging! :) A little misting on the background and doiley and wrinkle ribbon...

Make a wish closeup

Mostly American Crafts scraps...some Gauche Alchemy punchinella....stickers...Fancy Pants felt (heart), SRM sticker sentiment, distress stickles in rock candy, stickles in cotton candy, buttons, Heidi Grace pin, American Crafts floral badge and ribbon.

See the world

See the world

Hello friends! Did you enjoy my guest blogger Sparkle's creations in my last post? Here's my take on her challenge to make something inspired by your dream vacation. I used the sketch from Card Patterns. There are definitely many places in the world I would love to see and experience. I think it would be pretty cool to travel the world solely by train. The only time I've travelled from one country to another by train was when I took the train from Paris to London...that was one fast train ride...:)

The image is Travelling Josh, the soon-to-be released stamp from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. Yes, this lovely lady sent me some to play with! :) I coloured him with Copics. Patterned paper is from Making Memories (inked the edges with distress inks), stickers are from Studio Calico and Adorn It.

Sending happy thoughts...and a tutorial on handstitching on paper

Sending happy thoughts

I'm sending happy thoughts out to you! And myself! :) Having been in hardware twilight zone for the last few days, I'm slowly catching up. Missing one day online is like a gazillion light years, huh? I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that my google reader will always hover at the 200 + unread items range on a good day. :)

This card is based on Card Patterns sketch # 71 . The polka-dotted paper is from The Girls' Paperie and the cute dogs are from Basic Grey. SRM sticker sentiment and buttons! :) I did some handstitching for some added texture.

Here's a short tutorial on handstitching on paper..

Sending happy thoughts instructions

These are the supplies you need for handstitching on paper...a foam backing/sponge, a paper piercer (mine is actually the tool that came with my quilling kit!), needle and thread.

Sending happy thoughts insructions 2

Place the patterned paper on the foam backing and poke holes along the edges you want to handstitch. I usually just eyeball and poke holes but you can use a pencil to outline the area if you wish. Then just start stitching like you do on fabric....

Sending happy thoughts closeup 2

Here it is all done! :)
