The failed paint swatch card

I know that a lot of people do swatches of their coloured mediums to keep track of what they have. Something I thought would be a good idea for me....so I proceeded to cut watercolour paper to fit my planner and  did my first paint swatch with my latest purchase - 12 set watercolours from Sennelier.

But once I had the colours down on paper, I started to wonder how would the watercolours react with my Liquitex white opaque flakes [you know, the one I put in cold storage because it was a little "pokey"? *winks*]...

Since it turned out quite nice, I trimmed it down to size and made a card! :)

So the planner filed with paint swatches has no paint swatches for now....and it won't have any if I continue to be "distracted"...*LOL*

I distressed the edges for a little texture and added pretty lace right down the center to hide the white lines.

And finished with glittered diecuts, pearls, bloom and wood token.

The overdone card

Meet my super overdone card. Yep...it was one of those days when Murphy's Law was in play and everything I tried was a bad idea....*LOL*

So I had to keep adding stuff to "cover up" my mistakes...

And very soon, there wasn't any more space to add stuff! *insert laughter*

Love always....a quick card

I love making quick cards with ready supplies. It's a way to get a creative fix without the need for a massive cleanup after. :)

Here's a card that took me 15 minutes...including drying time! Some cheating involved of course! *winks*

First, I picked a watercolour card from my stack of residual misted backgrounds. Then I chose a SRM scallop diecut. Next, I coloured the Maya Road chipboard with Sharpie and added texture with the Art Anthology stone effects paint. Then I outlined the words with a white pen. Lastly, I adhered all pieces to the base!

The 5-minute Christmas card

Okay, so I'm a little late to the Christmas party since this is my first Christmas card of the year! But I'm staying positive because this only took 5 minutes! *winks*

1. Wind cording around washi tape roll to get the shape for the wreath....1 minute

2. Choose a card base from my stack of residual-misted card bases....1 minute

3. Heat up the hot glue gun and choose an embellishment saved from last year's Christmas card....1 minute

4. Adhere the wreath and the embellishment...1 minute

5. Add little bits of Golden gold mica flakes...30 seconds.
6. Admire my handiwork....30 seconds. *LOL*

The Earth laughs with flowers...

Hmmm....I've been on a floral kick recently, have you noticed? *winks*

The Earth laughs with flowers and apparently so do I! *LOL*

I was clearing up my desk and bed [err...yes, the mess gets to the bed too!] after working on a floral mixed media canvas and decided to make a card with the little bits lying around, :)

A quick misting of glimmermist with The Crafter's Workshop stencil. A little tea bag staining for a "aged" look,  then it was time to embellish! Those mica flakes were strategically added to cover up the glue marks of course!
