Friday's workspace - some pretty flowers

Happy Friday friends!  Just got a new laptop this week so I'm taking some time to digital housekeep before full migration. But I did pick up some pretties from the market...they are pink and oh so pretty! :)

Enjoy your weekend!

Let's get back to floral Fridays

It's been a hot minute since I last painted my watercolour florals. Time to get back to it! Perhaps I went a little too dark here...but it was 10 minutes of fun! *LOL*

Happy weekend friends!

Friday's Florals - today's quick five-minute play with watercolours

Happy Friday friends! Still haven't quite got back into the daily watercolour florals schedule yet. But did play for 5 minutes today just to share this with you. *winks*

Yes, I like to paint fast, wet in wet (add more colours while the paint is still wet) and without a sketch. Sometimes my flowers are wonky and my leaves are haphazardly placed but for that 5 minutes, I just paint intuitively and enjoy the process.

P/s: It helps that I live in a hot climate...everything dries very fast! :)

A 30-minute play with watercolours - Floral Fridays

Still a bit rough at the edges...but it's been fun getting back to watercolour florals. And a bit challenging to get it done in 30 minutes. But that's all the time I have these days until I get settled into the new routine.

Enjoy your weekend friends!:)

Friday's Florals - a few more from #the100dayproject

65/100

So I may have fallen a little behind in posting for #the100dayproject. Still doing them daily but trying to challenge myself to try new techniques because I feel like some of my recent floral pieces are looking too similar.

Since I missed drawing the eye, I decided to combine the eye with florals. On hindsight, I probably should have done it in watercolours and then work on the details with coloured pencils instead of doing everything in coloured pencils and then adding white highlights with a gel pen. This one was super time-consuming.

66/100

For this one I tried my best to do watercolours the conventional way. Adding colours in layers. Working on the details in coloured pencils. And then adding highlights with white gouache.

67/100

Going for the loose and abstract feel...

68/100

And of course, the overfilled vase look. *LOL*

P/s: Looking forward to catching up (aka finishing up the ones I started) this long holiday weekend! 4 blissful days of not having to wake up at the crack of dawn. Have a great weekend friends! :)

Another Friday, another abstract florals piece

2/100 with all art supplies used pictured.

Hello friends! Can't believe it's Friday already! This week has been crazy. Mum had a minor surgery to remove some abnormal growth discovered in last September's colonoscopy so I'm back to my full household load of marketing, cooking, cleaning and laundry. I did wake up every single morning to make breakfast for nephew #1 (and the award for the best aunt of the year goes to.....*drumroll*.....me! *LOL*).

Something's gotta give and that something is my progress on #the100dayproject. Officially on day 6....but your gal is just done with day 2.  Hopefully she can play catchup over the weekend. *encouraging music plays in the background*

Happy weekend friends! :)

First Friday's Abstract Florals for 2022

First week of the new year and I'm trying to get back into a healthy routine of daily painting...never mind that it's only happened ONCE so far. *LOL* I will get there! Eventually. *triumphant music plays in the background*

Meet the first Friday's Abstract Florals for 2022. :)

Happy weekend friends!

Friday's florals - wreath problems

The struggle is real my friends...this gal has wreath problems. It always starts off promising...and then there would be a spectacular "oopsie" and the entire painted wreath is ruined (okay, I'm sure I could save it with some white gesso cover-up...but this gal is trying to be a watercolour purist...emphasis on "trying" *LOL*). Yep, the watercolour palette was strategically placed to cover the "blob" and you can see that I took the photo in portrait mode so that the background is blurred and makes the painting look better than it is in real life...hehehe.

But this would be wreath #10 that was a watercolour fail. Now I even tried sketching out the wreath in pencil to give it a higher rate of success...unfortunately, this gal paints intuitively and colours outside the lines maybe a little too much! *cue laughter*

Happy weekend my friends!

P/s: Hope I survive the weekend without making my bank account cry because of all the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. *winks*
