Really having fun decorating these pocket envelopes (receipt holders from online shopping). I really love the pastel yellow base - such a happy colour!

This gratitude page was about the lovely boutique hotel I got to stay at when I was in Hanoi. It was a lovely place and in a great location (like a 3 minute walk from my fave spa!) and the service was great.
I could overlook the minor problems of having to pay to use the sauna and that I could swim the whole length of the pool in one breath (it was really small). But the food was really really bad. At first I thought it was because it was the packed breakfast (had to leave for morning appointments before in-house breakfast started) but it was worse when I could actually dine in. They couldn't even get the French toast right. Or the eggs.
What are your deal-breakers when choosing a hotel to stay in?
As the end of the year draws near, I am speeding up my eye drawings to finish up this latest sketchbook........which has taken a really really really long time to complete because I haven't been consistent at all for most of this year.
And if you are wondering why I haven't shared any Christmas projects yet...it's because I haven't started wrapping my pressies yet. Apparently, I've dropped all the balls and caught none. But it's been a stressful year so I am going to be kind to me and just go with the flow....afterall, a week is quite enough to wrap up pressies, right? *winks*
Despite everything, we still managed to do a short family vacation to Bali last week. :)
P/s:Hope you are better prepared for the holiday season than I am.
The Yams were pretty excited to try out the Venchi gelato...can you tell? *winks*
Sometimes you really don't know what you've been missing out on until you got it. For me, I've really enjoyed having a nail drill in my life. :)
P/s: It's used to file down nail polish without acetone...and a lot gentler on the nails. The nail tech at the salon can do it super fast but I like being able to remove and repair myself even though I'm super slow. *LOL*
Enjoy your weekend friends!
Really want to finish my eye drawing sketchbook this month so I'm going to try an eye drawing every day. Here are the first 3! :)
Happy Tuesday friends!
This page from the gratitude journal is all about getting a full-sized blusher when I attended the Pat McGrath event at Sephora. I have attended many events...some have been generous with the quantity of sample size products but this was the first time I scored a full-sized product worth $50. :)
Well friends, I got two done this week. It's hard because of the weather...it's always dark and gloomy in the afternoons when I can spare a little time to actually sit down and draw. I like to draw in natural light and I also take the opportunity to take short videos of my eye drawing process to share on my IG account.
Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends!
My parents are extremely fussy eaters. If it's not tasty, dad will eat very little. And he likes stuff that's extremely salty or sweet or spicy. Mum likes her food to be cooked in other ways rather than the way I've just prepared it. And she will be vocal about it and say she will just eat it because she needs the energy.
It is a challenge I face every day while trying my best to ensure that they get adequate nutrients at each meal. So I'm pretty happy when I sometimes get their tastebuds to agree on a meal. Like macaroni soup. :)
This one is squid and prawn macaroni soup.
This one is char siew macaroni soup.
You know I make everything from scratch (except the macaroni) so it's nice when they finish everything up.
P/s: Yes, I never get compliments, only complaints....caregiving is not easy.
Of course My Melody washi tape had to spring into action. *winks*
P/s: The Canon software was recently upgraded so I have new "frames" for my photos...yay!
A couple of years ago when Pandora bracelets were all the rage, I did want to get one. But it was a couple of hundred dollars to get the bracelet plus the charms I wanted. Which was ridiculous for silver-plated costume jewellery.
Fast forward to July this year, I played the claw machine at a mall and won the Pandora heart charm (pictured). It is red when it's cold and turns pink when it's warm with faint text that says "always" on one side and "I love you" on the other.
Since my dad and nephew #3 were watching other people play the claw machine and not having any luck, they were pretty impressed by my "skill" at winning something. *LOL* Clearly I had to keep my good luck charm right? *winks*
Fast forward to this week when I finally bought a preloved Pandora bracelet for S$55 (with all the charms pictured) and added my colour-changing hidden message heart charm. :)
It is nice to look back at what I was doing last year for my homecooked meals. Last year the focus was getting a huge variety of veggies/herbs in meals. This year my focus is more on getting more protein in each meal as the old folks are losing muscle mass.
