Thursday
On a roll - a week of eye drawings
Made the effort to give myself more creative time this week...yay, go me! :)
Tuesday
This week's eye drawing is done!
Look it's only Tuesday and I got my ONE eye drawing done! *winks*
It's been so hot lately that I seem to get less done so this is a win! Hope you are enjoying better weather. :)
Friday
Friday's desk - this week's mixed media eye
I'm really trying...but this eye took a week to complete! Hope you had more creative than me! :)
Happy weekend friends!
Thursday
Last of the April eye drawings
Life gets busy but I've really been enjoying my Holbein granulating watercolours...they really add depth to the eye drawings. Currently experimenting with doing a first wash with watercolours, in with the coloured pencils, back in with watercolours and finishing with coloured pencils, pen and marker.
Tuesday
More eye drawings!
Getting back into a routine has been hard. But I look forward to adding lashes with my calligraphy brush pen. It requires some finesse and lots of practice...and I can't practise until I draw the eye..so that's what has been getting me going. *LOL*
Plus the new Holbein watercolours of course. I love creating "chaos" with it and then establsihing structure back with the pens and pencils. :)
And of course, using a different Miffy clip with each drawing. *winks*
Happy Tuesday friends!
This week in eye drawings
Back to having fun with the eye drawings...adding a black brush pen for the lashes to the mix. :)
Thursday
Another week of mixed media eye drawings in the mini sketchbook
I love how the water-soluble pencils add interest and depth to my drawings...
While keeping it "loose" and artsy. :)
While saving lots of time too.
Happy Thursday friends!
Tuesday
This week in eye drawings - experimenting with watersoluble mediums
So I didn't really like how much the paper buckled when using traditional watercolours and experimented with other watersoluble mediums for the base layer this week.
Like Derwent Inktense coloured pencils. On this one.
And this one.
Plus this one..
And this one....
This one was done with Derwent Aquatone crayons.
Definitely glad my neglected art supplies finally got some play time. :)
Monday
Mixed Media Monday - playing with watercolours and coloured pencils on my eye drawings
Since the paper in my new sketchbook is a bit thicker, I decided to see how much water it can take. The first layer is done with watercolours...and then finished with coloured pencils.
The paper does buckle a little and you can't really lift the colour off (since it's not watercolour paper) but with most of the "skin" part done, the eye drawing took significantly less time to complete *high fives all around*,
Happy week ahead friends!
Friday
Friday's desk - this week's eye drawings from the new sketchbook
So I started a new sketchbook. *dramatic music plays in the background*
It's a small one - 4x4 Goldmine by Clairefontaine...so that it fits into my colour pencil travel box.
It's got a bit of texture so I'm not sure if I like it or not.
