You sparkle

Patterned paper: Prima, Others: Glimmer mist, flower bling, glossy accents, letter stickers and 3D dots.

Just wanted to try out the spiral flowers on a card (Carrie, what do you think?)...finally, some use for my shaped scissors (I have quite a few ;) I sprayed glimmer mist all over the card after attaching the paper flowers...and added some glossy accents to the flowers on the patterned paper. Do you like my You sparkle card?

Travel Box

Supplies: Patterned paper: 7Gypsies & various scraps, Cardstock: Bazzill, Chipboard: K & Co, Stickers: EK Success, Others: Brilliance ink, travel stamps, rub-ons, embossing powder, Cuttlebug embossing folder, brown string, ribbon, belt buckle, wood chips.

So I got an Audrey Award for winning last week's challenge at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge for My Darling card and was invited by Brooke & Sankari to be Guest Designer this week. :)

This week's movie is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and the requirement is to add an unexpected element to your card, layout or altered item. I love the Harry Potter series of movies because they are always shrouded in deep mystery and involve some form of time travel. In this movie, I love the enchanted Ford Anglia they got to ride in. Don't we all want to travel via a flying car? How exciting! And what's more mysterious than what's contained in a box? Thus, I was inspired by the movie to create a travel box. The unexpected element to the piece is the clasp I used for the box - it is actually a belt buckle.

I adhered 7Gypsies paper over a wooden box, then stamped various travel-related stamps all over the box. I also used various rub-ons and some embossing powder to create some dimension on the box. For the title work, I embossed cardstock, rubbed gold ink over, then adhered to square wood chips to form the base. I then added chipboard. As usual, I didn't have all the chipboard letters so I improvised by cutting the letters "a" & "e" from a scrap piece of patterned paper. I rolled up a piece of scrap paper to resemble a scroll and adhered by tying some string around it. I added a gold belt buckle to serve as a clasp for the box.

You are gorgeous

When was the last time you told someone, "You are gorgeous! " or "You look fabulous!" ? (Kids & pets excluded :)). The other day, a perfect stranger came up to me and said "You are gorgeous!". It totally made my day! I was floating on a cloud the whole day! When was the last time you paid someone a compliment in real life? Why is it so easy to compliment someone in the blogosphere but so difficult to tell someone in real life that you think they are fabulous?

Go ahead. Make someone's day today. :)

For the love of movies...Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge

Following my previous post on my love of all movies (except horror), this is the card I made for the challenge over at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge. I love movies with animals in them, especially the animated ones. I have a fascination with giraffes so if the movie has a giraffe in it, I'd probably love it..haha...yeah..I have a collection of patterned paper with giraffes..No prizes for guessing that I love the zoo either...I always visit the giraffes..:)...So, why did I use lions on this card? Because the movie this week is The Lion King...also, I'm saving my giraffe stickers :). Have you seen this movie? Hello clear card - Cinema Saturday Creative challenge

Here's my take on this week's Cinema Saturday Creative challenge which is to incorporate some embossing on your card. This week's movie is My Fair Lady...love the movie..who doesn't adore Audrey Hepburn...:)

Gold-embossed the floral stamp on black cardstock. The round gold trim was cut from a piece of doiley and adhered to the cardstock. This was then cut out and adhered to the clear acrylic piece with polka-dotted ribbon. The edges of the acrylic piece was inked with black Stazon. Black and white polka dotted ribbon was tied to the sides of the piece. Chipboard letters were added. Pin It

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - Charlie and the chocolate factory

This week's Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge is the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Roald Dahl and Johnny Depp. Nuff said.



I used my Graphic 45 papers for this. Had this mailbox in my stash for the longest time. Finally got round to decorating it. Not much in terms of technique, just a lot of laborious work...adhering all the bling...
