Happy mail for [insert your name]!

One of my fave things to do when I travel is to visit bookstores and raid their stationery section for cute little knick knacks. Like these. :)

So I thought it would be nice to send someone happy mail with some travel-themed ephemera. :)

Just leave me a comment telling me about your dream vacation. And I'll pick a winner next week.

This mixed media canvas belongs to...[insert your name]

Follow-your-dreams-mixed-media-canvas

Last week I shared this 6x6 mixed media canvas on my Facebook Fan Page and got some really lovely comments....so I thought it would be nice to score some points with Santa *winks* by giving this away to one lucky person! :)

Follow-your-dreams-mixed-media-canvas by Yvonne Yam

The patterned papers are all from the Blue Fern Studios Montage Collection.

I toned down the design of the paper around my focal point with some heavy gesso, then added some Liquitex White Opaque Flakes for texture and subtle sparkle.

If you think this little mixed media canvas would look good on your desk/wall OR you just want to own a Yvonne Yam original [you know, in the event that I get famous or something...*winks*], leave me a comment on this post. The deadline is Tuesday, December 16th.

My current fave Faber Castell Memory Design Craft supplies and your chance to win them!

Hello there friends! Today I want to share with you some of the Faber Castell Design Memory Craft supplies currently rocking my creative world. *winks* And ONE lucky person gets to win the goodies in the picture, courtesy of Faber Castell Design Memory Craft! :)

Layout
1. Gelatos

I love these! They glide on like lipstick and can be used both as a wet or dry medium. The colours are vibrant and work on a variety of surfaces like paper, canvas and even wood.

Journal page

2. Paper Crafter Crayons

These highly-pigmented wax crayons are awesome for creating wax resist effects. Or just to serve as a barrier to prevent colours from bleeding into each other when playing a variety of mixed media products. Melt them with a heat gun and you can get really cool wax drippings.

 Travel tag
3. Stamper’s Big Brush Pens

These lightfast India ink pens are great for stamping and colouring chipboard. I especially lovelovelove the white pen. I use it a lot to cover up my "mistakes".  And to stamp on dark backgrounds.

4. Art Grip Aquarelles

These pencils are easy to colour with and the colours intensify once you add water for awesome watercolour effects. Love that they are waterproof once they are dry, allowing you to add layers and layers of colour to create depth and richness to your projects.

If you would like to participate in this giveaway, please

1. LIKE the Faber Castell Design Memory Design Craft Facebook Page.
2. Leave a comment on this post telling me a little bit about you and which part of the world you reside in.

Entries close on Monday May 13 11.59pm (GMT +8). Please make sure your entry is linked to an email address that I can contact you via should you be the winner of this awesome giveaway. :)

Monday

A giveaway! :)

Hello there friends! How about a little giveaway to start the week? :)

If you want to get a little more mileage from your growing stash of punches and die-cuts, why not join my friend Mo Kao  in a 3-week online workshop over at The Art Studio via Scrapbook News and Review? She's letting me give away ONE spot on her fabulous class [worth $39.99] to one of you! :)

I’ll show you how to speed up your scrapping time by using basic shaped punches on your layouts as well as practical uses for basic shapes such as circles, squares and hearts. For example, I’ll show you how to create a gorgeous flower using only heart shapes.
I’ll also help you with design by providing you with:
9 sketches to use for your class projects (and to add to your sketch collection)
9 interesting ideas on how to use simple die-cut shapes (three ideas for each shape)
9 sketches presented in full-color palettes (sketches also available in black-and-white)
9 finished layouts
Assorted shape templates
You’ll even get a big surprise in the end!
In this class, you’ll learn how to apply scrapbook page design skills and color palette ideas to create fabulous scrapbook layouts that use all the creative ideas presented in the lessons.
All information will be presented in a mostly video format with the ability to retrieve the sketches and templates as documents to save to your computer. You’ll need a circle, square and heart punch/shape/die-cut, although you’ll also be able to use the shape templates for some of the lessons.

____________________________________________

Doesn't it sound like a fantastic class? I know I should be doing so much more with my punches! To be in the running for this awesome giveaway, leave a comment on this post telling me how many punches you have in your stash [it will make me feel better about how many I have....*LOL*]. I will announce the winner on Monday, 30th July.

4 must-have supplies....a giveaway!

You make my heart sing

Hello friends! Today I would like to share with you 4 of my must-have craft supplies....things that make my heart sing....:)

1. Tombow multi-purpose adhesive

Best liquid adhesive ever! Seriously. I use it on almost everything. I was hysterical when I couldn't find it in my stationery store. Turns out they were just out of stock for a couple of days. *LOL*

2. Maya mist

This is hands-down my fave brand for mists. The mists dry almost instantaneously on paper. Since they were designed to coat Maya Road chipboard, the colours are intense and a little goes a long way! I have yet to finish a single bottle [and I don't have that many colours..14...*winks*]. I use it primarily for misting on paper and use a brush to paint it on chipboard instead of misting [less wastage].

3. Ranger Stickles

I love the look of glitter but not the mess it leaves behind. Ranger Stickles is easy to apply, cover up a multitude of crafting sins and adds a lovely sparkle to any project. I love to dab a little behind clear embellishments...it adds that bit of glitter and serves as glue too! :)

4. Sakura Pigma Micron pen

Acid-free and archival. Fade-proof, bleed-proof and water-proof. It's my go-to pen for writing. I love the fact that it's waterproof because I spill water a lot...*LOL* [fortunately water is my fave drink so ants don't get to join the party! ] I love 08 because the thick nip makes my handwriting fat and round and cute! :)

There you have it. 4 of my must-have craft supplies. What are yours?

I'm thinking I should share my 4 must-have supplies with at least one of you, right? *winks*
Leave a comment telling me about your must-have craft supplies and I'll pick a winner in a week or so! :)

P/s:  Happy weekend friends! Come play along with my guest Miae Rowe's masking tape challenge and LESSology Challenge #15: The Bookend Challenge! :)

"Chest of drawers" filled with trinkets giveaway! :)

Chest of drawers

My fave type of crafting is altered art. I love taking a mundane object and transforming it into something else. Something unexpected but practical. :)

Most of you know how much I love boxes [I must have shown dozens of altered boxes by now. *LOL*] so I was delighted when I rummaged through my "keep-it-for-a-rainy-day" stash and found these....little packaging boxes made out of corrugated cardboard. Just perfect for LESSology Challenge #13: Chest of drawers.

Just added an ice-cream stick and a mirrored embellishment on each box and tied them together with some twine. Doesn't it look like a cute chest of drawers? Haha...I think so and I'm sticking to it. Anyway, I've filled them with my fave little trinkets and I'm sending it out to one of you. :) Just my way of saying thanks for being a supporter of my blog. You want in? Leave me a comment on this post and I'll pick a winner in a week. :)

P/s: Come play along with my guest Michelle's neon challenge...it ends on Friday!

I used the sketch at Frosted Designs and was inspired by the chipboard challenge at Scrapbookers Anonymous.

Here's the prize I'm offering!  A Bo Bunny stamp set and an Inkadinkado ink pad! :)

Your next stop is at Frauke's! :)
