Stitching with Alice Wertz!

Hello friends! My guest today is the super talented Alice Wertz of Alice's {Little}Wonderland. Alice's creations always put a smile on my face. Her colouring skills are superb and she adds just the right embellishments to complete her brilliantly colour-coordinated cards.Today she shares a tip about adding stitching to your projects.

But first, let's have a look at some of Alice's swoon-worthy creations....

**********************************************************************
Hi all! My name is Alice Wertz. I live in Northern California with my sweet husband and our two cat "children." =) I have been making cards for about 4 years and am still very much enjoying it. I love coloring with Copics, but I also try practicing with distress inks and Twinkling H2O coloring. Big thank you to Yvonne for inviting me to guest design! I am a fan of Yvonne's work and am so honored to be here. =)

Other than coloring (which I consider myself still learning), I love to add stitching to my cards. I think it's an easy and inexpensive way to add texture and dimension to your cards. Here is a card that I made:

I used both straight stitch and zig zag stitch on this one. Even though I didn't use a lot of embellishments nor was it a complicated design, the stitching gave the card a more finished look. One tip that I learned was that if you use Nesties as much as I do, emboss the image after you cut them out. I always use the embossed lines as my guide when stitching and they make your circles and ovals looks perfect!

There are many ways to add stitching to your projects, i.e. faux stitching, hand stitching (which Yvonne is a master!), rub-ons or stamping, so I thought I would challenge you to make a card/project with some stitching in it. Hope you can play along. =)

So are you ready to play along with Alice's stitching challenge? Please link up your stitching creations using Inlinkz (located at the end of this post) by Friday May 20.

As always, please leave a little love for my guest Alice.
