10 of my fave ways to use chipboard.

Chipboard is a great way to add dimension and interest to your project without bulk. Here are 10 of my fave ways to use chipboard. :)

Go-girl
This layout was published in Scrap365 magazine December 2012.

1. Glittered chipboard letters for the title work.

The glittered chipboard letters here match the colour of my niece's dress and helps to guide the eye from the larger photo to the two smaller photos.

Canvas-for-Julie

2. Painted chipboard blooms on canvas.

Here the chipboard blooms add to the different textural feel of the bloom cluster.

An-awesome-day

3. Chipboard corners.

The swirly corners at the top corners help to "frame" the layout. Together with the chipboard letters, they create a visual triangle and help achieve a balanced layout.

Yay

4. To create a fun whimsical "scene".

The lamp post and flowers help to create a fun outdoor scene.

New-friends

5. As a pointer/guide.

Here the swirly chipboard serves as a pointer to guide the eye through the layout.

Celebrate art deco

6. To help create an embellishments cluster.

Chipboard is a great way to create a little dimension and interest in an embellishment cluster.

Christmas-party

7. To create a "frame" for a cute image.

Here I coloured a chipboard frame with a Copic marker and added some twine to serve as a frame/base for my cute image.

Off-to-the-playground

8. To add pops of colour to a layout.

I used the pops of colour to create continuity and help guide the eye to move from the top left to the bottom right of the layout.

Everyday-goddess

9. To "frame" photos in a layout.

Here I created the "base frame" by painting the patterned background with gesso. Then I added a layer of tulle. The photos are then adhered to corrugated board. The swirly frame was gessoed and layered with glass bead gel for a dreamy sparkly finish.

Enchanted-garden

10. To create a mixed media canvas.

I love to adhere random chipboard pieces to a canvas and then paint them. The chipboard add texture without bulk and I love how the chipboard react to different mediums to create really beautiful effects!

There you have it. 10 of my fave ways to use chipboard. What are yours?

Gorgeous, all of it! I rarely use chipboard on a layout. I'd say 99% of the time it's for a title. I need to branch out - these are great suggestions.
