National Day Parade 2011

NDP2011

My country recently celebrated her 46th year of independence and we got tickets to attend the National Day Parade...all decked out in red! :)

NDP2011 closeup

I enjoyed making this layout...using bits and pieces from various brands. The way I like to scrapbook. Recently I've been sticking to about 80% of a single brand on my projects so that I can share on manufacturers' gallery/facebook pages. I do mix lines within a brand though...just so I can exercise a little more creativity. Do you like mixing brands or just sticking to one brand at a time?

NDP2011 supplies list

Supplies: Patterned papers from Echo Park Paper, Scenic Route Paper, Studio Calico, My Mind's Eye and My Little Shoebox, 7 Gypsies tab, Making Memories brads and photo turn, The Twinery twine, American Crafts thickers, Sam and Lucy stickers, SRM stickers, Martha Stewart edge punch, metal bookplate, wrinkle ribbon.

P/s: Have a fabulous weekend friends! Come play along with my guest Erum's ribbon flower challenge! :)

I love mixing brands - I think sometimes I do that to challenge myself because when I'm in a hurry or just want to make a card / l.o. for the sake of making a card, I use the same items on a line.

Amazing page. Love all the details! Happy independence day, Singapore!!

another great layout! I tend to use all the same papers. Don't think I am brave enough to mix them yet.

I love parades. This is so fun! I like mixing brands since I like variety on a page. I'm trying to learn to scrap using the same manufacturer. It gets hard for me sometimes. :)

That is an amazing mix! I go back and forth, something sticking with one line, sometimes pulling stash from all over the place. I like the variety!

Amazing!!! I usually stick to one brand since it makes all the matching easier :>)

Wow Yvonne this is a stunner! You need to sub this somewhere...like CK - they love multi-photo!! If I were scrapbooking just for me it would be a total mix but like you I scrap mainly a brand at a time so that if there's a contest or call I have what I need to sub...

Love this LO, Yvonne! I really like how you mixed the papers and yet they all work so well together. I prefer to mix my papers/brands--like the eclectic look.

fabulous mixing of lines. such a fun layout.

I like to do a little of both. I really love mixing it, but sometimes I really enjoy sticking to one line and using all the matching items. the beauty of scrapbooking. anything goes, right???
