I've really been enjoying working with watercolours in my sketch paper book. Since it isn't watercolour paper, I can't really lift the colours once they are down. And if you add too much water, it just becomes a mess that you have to try to salvage once the paper is dry....which is the fun part actually. After this "ugly stage", I go in with my arsenal of mixed media supplies to make it look like a decent eye ...coloured pencils, paint markers, brush pens etc.

This is fascinating! I'd love to see a photo of what it looks like in regular intervals as you add the other supplies - like every 15 minutes or something.
