Combining two of my current fave things....

Colourful-mixed-media-girl-on-canvas

No prizes for guessing what my current fave things are...*winks*...mixed media and drawing. :)

I really wanted to just do an abstract mixed media piece using stencils and colorants.

Then I got stuck. My piece really needed a focal point. Before I knew it, I was drawing and painting a girl's face on my canvas panel. *winks*

It was actually quite hard to "play" on a textured surface that was loaded with layers of stencilled paint. But I actually love the texture on her face. :)

What do you think?

Omgosh, omgosh! I LOVE this! Holy Cow, how amazing! Your faces are just sooo gorgeous, and I really love the abstract feel to this and all the texture on her face is soooooo cool! That background is fabulous. Love how it blends into her and ends up looking like her hair. And all the detail in her eyes is mesmerizing! This is my new fave of yours!

I think you hit the jackpot even if it was by accident. You are very good at working on a project until it comes to life. The background alone or the face alone would not have had the same impact. Together they are sensational....so happy you shared it.

Beautiful use of the Gelatos® and other mediums to create this stunning piece. Really amazing!! Seeing the underlying texture only adds to the beauty of the piece. I'm sure you are very proud of how she turned out -- I know that I would be. :) Thank you so much for joining us at the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge. xo
