Waste no mist...

Happy-walk

If you were wondering how I got my somewhat "artsy" background done, wonder no more...just follow my motto, "Waste no mist!" *LOL*

I do my backgrounds in batches so I just press all the residual mists onto one single sheet of watercolour paper and ....[drumroll please...] I get a somewhat "artsy" background. It does help that I use cold-pressed watercolour paper which has some texture on it [hot-pressed watercolour paper is smooth].

The key to pulling everything together is to use embellishments in the same hues. I coloured the gauze with the same green Dylusions ink spray, then diluted it with water to create varying tones of the same colour.

I really like the feel of this page, its quite crisp but still colourful! I'm terrible at reusing what I have...I can't seem to see any potential in things that clearly have potential :-P

The idea of using one watercolor sheet to collect all your misted extras is awesome. Sometimes when I purchase paper that looks like my scraps I wonder why did I pay for that when I make the same sort of designs and throw them away. Thanks for the light bulb idea....my brain is brighter now. LOL!

You really do some AWESOME backgrounds....& your ideas have rubbed off [finally] & I'm starting to do a similar thing, but just with normal cardstock. Still works ok!!!

Absolutely amazing!! The background looks so fabulous!! My left-over mist papers never look like this...they get smeared and muddy and pretty much unusable!! Love the fun pictures!! Have a great day :)

I'd love to see a photo of all your ready-to-use "waste no mist" papers. Do you tend to keep them waiting long, or do you use them almost immediately after making them?

You do it so well! It doesn't suit my style though but I do it sometimes then use some of those bits for matting.
