Guess who's into the weathered, beaten-up look?

Bookend project

Given my recent resolve to use my Tim Holtz/Ranger stash, I've been really into the weathered, beaten-up look. :) Here is my hardworking bookend cum remote control holder for LESSology Challenge #15: The Bookend Challenge.

I adhered scrunched-up wrapping tissue to a wooden holder using gel medium. Then I proceeded to "distress" it with distress inks [for the different tones], distress embossing powder [for the gritty, grainy texture] and misted with walnut stain [let it drip into the crevices and dry naturally overnight].

Here's how it looks holding my remote controls and propping up my sketch journals. :)

Supplies: Prima canvas letters, Ranger distress inks, embossing powders and glossy accent, Maya mist, EK Sucess walnut ink, Graphic 45 patterned papers, Claudine Hellmuth gel medium, wooden holder, wrapping tissue.

We could definitely use a remote holder...with my luck THAT would get lost too! lol
I love the neat cut-outs on the front, and the lion & Dorothy are funky touches!
