What have you prettied up lately?

Upcycled round tin box

So my bestie bought me an Angry Birds thumb-drive. [yep, people like to buy me cutesy stuff...I wonder why?] It was housed in this cute round tin with a see-through top. Needless to say, you know which item I was really excited about...*winks* [I'm shy about whipping out that particular thumb-drive in public...*LOL*

It's small....a little bigger than a ring box. So I was happy to be able utilize the little bits and pieces of ribbon and trim. :) I did try to incorporate some baker's twine but it drove me crazy to stick it down in a circular fashion so I just applied stickles. Glitter does cover a multitude of sins...aka glue marks!

I finally got to utilize this gold metal embellishment I had in my stash. It's a little too heavy for a scrapbook page even though it would look really good as a round photo frame. I made a little shaker frame with small plastic embellishments. The base of the cover was painted with crackle paint in rock candy which served as a glue and gave a subtle crackle finish.

What have you prettied up lately? If you have utilized something found in your home and given it a new lease of life, please play along with my guest Sonia's recycling challenge....it ends on Friday!

Supplies: Round tin box, plastic and metal embellishments, trim, ribbon, Ranger stickles and crackle paint, button.
