Here's my nephew O, with his grandma (my mum)...I have so few photos with my own grandparents...:( so I'm making it a point to ensure that my nephews have a lot of them!
I misted a stencil over the cardstock for a subtle design on the background. Added the photo, then used white paint for the border of the photo...text and leaves are from Scenic Route paper...flowers from Prima...I handstitched along the flourishes and wrote my journaling with a white pen....title letters are stickers from Adorn It.

What a fantastic job. I nearly missed the journaling because it looks so elegant with the flourish. What a fantastic job! I really love that you used paint for the mat. Very nice!

That is so cute. I think it's great to see kids with their grandparents. I always loved mine. I've only got my maternal grandmother left now.

You are such a nice auntie...great layout!
Geez, where do I start?!?! That stitching and journal placement is awesome. I love the subtle stencil. And that paint around the picture idea? I'm totally copying that for a project I'm working on right now! lol
So awesome that you're making a point to take these pictures. Your nephews will thank you for it!
I did want to thank you for commenting on my blog. I appreciate the advice you left me there. I think I might cut off the word verification. I had just used it because it was recommended to me. I'm going to see how it works without it.
This is so very precious, lovely picture ! Just gorgeous!

amazing techniques Yvonne! And I love the photo you used. Very very special:)
Love the use of stencil! It's subtle yet beautiful!
I have few photos with my grandparents too. In fact, I only know my grandma (my father's) and the rest passed away before I was born.
