Wednesday

I nearly mooned the entire neighbourhood.

Celebrate life

Funny story. About how I nearly mooned the entire neighbourhood. I kid you not. [cue: laughter]

Saturday. I was walking my two dogs along with my littlest nephew J (age 2) and the oldest nephew S (age 6). Little J refused to walk and had to be carried, I had two leashes on my other hand which meant that nephew S had to hold on to my pocket while crossing the street (nifty trick I learnt from Prison Break *winks*)...unfortunately, nephew S tripped over a pebble and tugged on my elastic-waisted-weekend-shorts (you know - the sort that allows for guilt-free eating on weekends?) in order to break his fall and I nearly mooned the entire neighbourhood. Fortunately I like to wear big baggy T-shirts too so my buttocks were spared the embarrassment of being exposed. *LOL*

Anyway, my layout features nephew S blowing out the candles on his 6th birthday.  A little paint-with-a-brayer work. Some masking and inking with punchinella. Bo Bunny papers. SRM stickers. Wrinkle ribbon. Gauche Alchemy embellishments.

P/s: I would love for you to play along with my guest Tesa's colouring challenge! :)

I decorated a bag....a tutorial :)

Dress form on canvas bag

So I finally "made" a bag! Well, sort of anyway...[insert sheepish grin]....the bag was bought at the local dollar store [cheaper than if I were to buy fabric and sew my own bag!]. Technically speaking, I merely decorated a bag...*LOL*

Lo and behold...I made a tutorial of the entire process...*High fives all around*

I started with this canvas "dress" which I stared at for a good minute. Who would wear such an unflattering shapeless dress right? *LOL*

Maybe all it needs is a little colour? Mist to the rescue!!! :)

And maybe some embellishments? I pour out the contents of my fave Gauche Alchemy Pink Parts Mixed Media Color Kit....

Added a little design on my dress using the punchinella as a mask and distress ink (fired brick).

I pleated and handstitched a little tulle....

Added some trim and beads.... [okay I forgot to take photos in-between]

I cut some felt for the stand and just glued the entire piece to the bag using fabric glue. I'm passing it off as a baby girl's dress form...*LOL*

Congrats

Hola friends! :)

It was interesting to read your comments from my "I'm very into pink these days...are you?" post. :) There's a reason for my sudden foray into all things pink...my older brother added baby #4 to his brood (my three nephews) and it's a girl!!! Yes, my Saturdays will be spent with 3 boys and a girl! :)

Here's this week's Get Sketchy card. Prima paper and canvas alphas. Stickles. Ribbon. Tags. Tulle. Pearls. Heart charm and brad. Distress Ink in Tea Dye and Worn Lipstick.

I'm very into pink these days...are you? :)

Pretty tart mold

I'm very into pink these days...a colour that I actually didn't fancy as a little girl...*LOL*

Upcycled some tulle from packaging....glued to the tart mold with loads of glue dots.  Embellishments from Gauche Alchemy Pink Parts Mixed Media Color Kit. Currently in love with the canvas letters from Prima...they were beige...inked with distress ink in worn lipstick and stickled for sparkle! ;)

I tried misting with a Prima mask...very subtle swirls...can you see?

Prima patterned papers. Trim. Tulle. Paper flowers. Pearls. Mist. Bling. Stickles. Doiley. Punchinella.

P/s: I would really love for you to play along with my guest Debbie's embossing and sanding challenge! Pretty pink please?

The bird video

Bird Video

So I have this rather boring (at least to me! ) bird video on my phone that my littlest nephew absolutely adores! I think he must have seen it at least a hundred times by now....*LOL* When I whip out my phone, he runs from wherever he is, plonks himself on my lap, points to the phone and says, "bird!". So totally cute right?

Some layering with an MS edge punch, wrinkle ribbon and stickers.

This layout was inspired by the new challenge at Scrapping The Music. This fortnight's song is "Hanging by a moment" by Lifehouse. Patterned papers are from My Little Shoebox. Maya mists. SRM stickers. Distress inks. Baker's twine. Martha Stewart edge punch. Ribbons. Tag. Buttons.

P/s: You have till Friday to play along with my guest Debbie's embossing and sanding challenge! There's a super awesome prize package! :)  Remember that cardstock is not the only thing you can emboss and sand...*winks*.

Colouring with Tesa Broman! :)

My guest today is the lovely Tesa Broman of Tesas Scrap. She makes the cutest cards ever...really. They are always full of detailed layers and rich with happy colours! She's an awesome stamper and plays with mediums for really fantastic effects. And yes, she's one of those superachieving crafters who gets a lot done in just five minutes. Today she shares a five minute colouring experiment and is hosting a image colouring challenge with a fabulous prize for one lucky player! :)

Shall we have a peek at some of her wonderful creations?

*****************************************************************

Hi! It was such a happy surprise to be asked to be a guest on Yvonne's blog! I adore Yvonne's work and have been a fan for quite some time now - ever since I first laid my eyes on one of her projects. So it's an honor to be here. I'm Tesa, mother of one, working as an Economic Historian and an addicted paper crafter. I've been scrapbooking and card making for four years by now and the scrapbooking scene in Sweden has grown immensly since 2007. I started out with layouts but nowadays I mostly make cards. I love all sorts of stamping and I really, really love coloring figurative stamps with my markers or distress inks. It's pure therapy.

The girl on this card is colored with Tombow pens and a water pencil. That is the easiest way to color an image around. All you need is a good water color paper and a cute stamp and you will have results in minutes. The water color pencil is my best buy this last year and combined with Tombows - wow! :) You should try it! Here is a five minute experiment I did:

Not perfect, but good enough. Especially for a five minutes job.

Hope you'd like to get your markers/pencils out! I'd love to see your cards with colored images! Copics or Tombows or any other coloring technique you like is fine. I have a neat little package of stamps from Swedish manufacturers to one winner, choosen by random.org. I so hope you will play with me!

****************************************************************************

Amazing coloring in just five minutes right? It takes me that long just to choose colours! *LOL* Ready to play along with Tesa's colouring challenge? Link up your newly created projects via Inklinz (located at the end of the post) by Friday April 22

As always, please leave a little love for my guest Tesa! :)

Hello sunshine! :)

Hello sunshine

Hello sunshine! :) I had one of those blur-of-a-weekend and hey presto, it's Monday again! Today's layout features my sister in Chile. I used the sketch over at Lily Bee and used loads of eyelets as inspired by this month's challenge at Scrapbookers Anonymous.

Some pull-out tags for the journaling. I used some punchinella for the base. Stickles to add a little sparkle.

Who knew I had some cute eyelets in my stash? I meant to use eyelets along the whole border but got lazy...and poked holes instead..;)

P/s: Don't forget about my guest Debbie's embossing and sanding challenge! It ends on Friday! :)

Birdhouse love

Birdhouse

Hello there! :) It was so fun to read the comments on yesterday's post - turns out that there are many paper hoarders! *LOL*

Challenge # 2 is up at Bows and Berries and it's Inspired by Nature. I used the cute birdhouse image (Psst....you get 25% off if you use this code at checkout :BB25) and Lily Bee papers.

I altered a tart mold. :) Pearls, tulle, trim, ribbon, doiley, punchinella and bling..

Did a little paper piecing and coloured the rest of the image with Copics. Added a little stickles for some sparkle! The metal clip lets you attach a photo or a love note. :)

P/s: I would really love for you to play along with my guest Debbie's embossing and sanding challenge! :)

I'm trying to use up my old papers...are you? :)

15 Jan 2011

I don't know about you but I'm furiously trying to use up my old papers (okay 2010 papers) to make way for new ones...*LOL* The "one in, one out" system works well for me....less clutter and hoarding. :) What about you?

This layout features my nephews and Lily Bee papers, utilizing the sketch from Sketchy Thursdays and inspired by the challenge at Scrap the Boys to document a specific moment in time.

A little fussy cutting and layering of embellishments.

I upcycled a sock hanger here...:)

P/s: I went totally off-grid this past weekend so I'll be making my blog visits today!:) Don't forget about my guest Debbie's embossing and sanding challenge....I would love for you to play along! :)

*Edited* This layout was a fave on Sketchy Thursdays! :)
