The one about the visit to Chinese Garden

The other day we went to visit the Chinese Garden. It had been closed since 2019 for extensive renovations.

It recently opened with a fabulous Mid-Autumn Festival light up that was really beautiful (except I can't get good people photos because of all the bright lights).

Had to add in the little "dragon" from my CNY decor.

I was happy to be able to use my "oriental" stickers on the page...*winks*

3 eye drawings to share

Yep...3 eye drawings in 10 days is better than 1 eye drawing in 7 days right? *winks*

Still having fun with my fluorescent coloured pencils...can you tell?

Happy Thursday friends!

Monday's page - the one about dinner at Ikea

So the other day we went to have dinner at Ikea after visiting grandma in hospital.

They had braised beef cheeks that night...*happy dance*

The four of us shared two servings of braised beef cheeks, 20 Swedish meatballs and 10 chicken wings.

Having lots of fun with my word diecuts.

If you were wondering why you are seeing a single photo layout from me (does happen but quite rare), it's because it's the only one I took before the food got "attacked". *LOL*

Thursday's desk - this week's decorated box

Found another sturdy box and just had to decorate it of course...*winks*

Started with this lovely sturdy box which had a nice sheen and a gold edging.

Since I used a patterned paper base, I used a solid mat for my embellishment cluster to have a visual pop.

Happy Thursday friends!

Tuesday

Another Tuesday, another page from the gratitude journal - homemade CNY baked treats

Happy Tuesday friends! Today's page from the gratitude journal is all about loving what you do...like homemade CNY baked treats. :)

I've hardly had time to bake treats this year so working on this page reminded me of how I used to enjoy baking...and should probably get back to it. It's so easy to just buy something from the store. But there's something about making food from scratch that I really enjoy...*winks*

Make Stuff Monday - a quick upcycled decorated paper bag

In today's Make Stuff Monday, I'm sharing this quick upcycled decorated paper bag. :)

I started with this sturdy dark grey paper bag from Drunk Elephant. The inside of the bag is lime green so I went with a matching patterned paper for a coordinated look and feel.

Mainly flat elements for easy storage and transport. Finished with pearl mist of course. *winks*

Friday's decorated box project

Here it is...getting back into mixed media in Friday's decorated box project!:)

Started with this sturdy Kraft box from Kiehl's....that provided a great canvas to play with. *winks*

I went in with clear gesso first to create a base texture for the paints.

Then added flat elements for easier storage and transport.

Finished with a pearl mist for sparkly sheen.

Enjoy your weekend friends!

This week's single eye drawing (again)

Yep. This is all I have drawn this week. Time has been scarce. But I really like it. The fluorescent pencils are a real game changer. Can you see the "glow"? So much fun! :)

P/s: I have been dabbling with some mixed media...more to share in a bit!

Workspace Wednesday - the most fancy French toast

Happy Wednesday friends! Just wanted to share the most fancy French toast I had in Ho Chi Minh two weeks ago. It was just a palm-sized piece of toast topped with whipped cream, caramelized apple and mango and finished with cinnamon and a mint leaf. It was a really lovely sweet treat to finish off breakfast. :)

A page from the gratitude journal - a colourful plate

This was last April when I was experimenting with one plate meals with lots of colour and nutrients. Dad had a heart attack the previous month and hasn't had much of an appetite so I had to make meals look aesthetically appealing.

I need to go back to these one plate meals again. :)

Make Stuff Monday - gift-wrapped birthday pressie

My cousin's birthday is coming up and this is her gift-wrapped birthday pressie. My preference for birthday pressie is always a box filled with me time goodies like skincare, makeup and art supplies. But this year she got just one item, a rather pricey one...that came in its own fancy box.

So I wrapped up the fancy box with gold wrapping tissue...

And added some fun details so that she can't guess what's inside. *winks*

Friday's desk - mini paper bag

Happy Friday! Just a quick decorated mini bag to share. The fun girly was fussy cut from a Jane Davenport paper wrapper. Just added patterned paper and a hello diecut. :)

It was a lovely mini bag to start with... some embossed details. Got it from a Gucci Beauty event.

Enjoy your weekend friends!

Workspace Wednesday - this week's 2 eye drawings

Life has been busy as always and I've managed 2 eye drawings so far this week. Wish I had more time to play but I did have a little...plus the reorganisation of my desk and art supplies is progressing well (slow but steady...lots of re-tweaks).

I did push myself to try a different (and challenging) angle. I like how it turned out.
