Well friends, your gal here is back to baking again! I made the pastry cream last night, made the dough this morning and we had fruit tarts by 11.30am. With positive feedback from mum, nephew #1 and #3 and bestie *high fives all around*
I wanted to put passionfruit on all the tarts but I gave up after 5 because it was too much work...so I went with blueberries for the rest. :)

We live in strange times...when even eating out as a family is considered a scrapbook worthy event. *LOL* Things are supposedly "back to normal" in the larger scheme of things but my folks pretty much only head out for daily exercise and groceries.
Nephew #1 had his dragon boating race that day so we went to support him and also tried out this famous kway chap hawker stall nearby (only open for 4 hours 4 days a week). It was a 30 minute queue...and the folks really enjoyed the meal.

Happy happy Monday friends! How about a bird painting for Mixed Media Monday? *winks*
Well, you know that in the past, my birds tend to be on the fuller side so I really tried my best to paint a moderately fluffy bird this time (after all birds tend to come in all shapes and sizes..;).
I did start with a rough pencil sketch to help me along (a guideline so I don't go rogue...*LOL*), went in with watercolours, then finished off with coloured pencils, acrylic paint markers (white & black) and a white gel pen.
What do you think?

Happy Wednesday friends! Today is my out-to-run-errands day...so here is a quick share! Hope you are having good weather on your end....it's been both sunny and rainy every day...which I'm not too mad about ...as long as the sunny part is when I'm out and the rainy part is when I'm home. *LOL*
Not sure about you but my family scrapbook albums over the last 2.5 years has been mostly on food and stuff. Because we haven't been out much and also because nobody looks good in a mask....*LOL*
Anyway, just wanted to document my European gifts from my sister on this layout. And also how long I waited for my barista (aka sister) to make me a coffee after she got back from her trip. (She took a course on hand-poured coffee...and bought a ton of coffee equipment).:)
Yep...cute pig makes another appearance! *winks*

Happy Monday friends! I have been on a floral kick since Friday....this is work-in-progress on a fourth piece. *high fives all around* Currently trying to get the hang of making Reels on IG so I've been filming little snippets of my painting. Which is a challenge given the size of my small desk by the window. Yep...I got paint on the bedsheets today. *LOL*
It's been almost a month since I last did a floral painting. A break after #the100dayproject was totally necessary for me to reflect and recharge. So many boo boos in this one but that's the way I roll and learn. :)

It's been hard these days to carve out creative time. So I have been keeping projects really simple...just a few elements and I'm done.
I get to use up some supplies in my stash and there's not a whole lot to clean up. Like this really quick decorated notebook. Two scrap pieces of patterned paper, a little paper tearing for texture, a strip of washi for added interest. And a fussy-cut sentiment/titlework.
Do the patterns even go together? Hmm...maybe not. Is it better than having a plain unadorned notebook? 100%. Let's call it a win.:)
P/s: Hope your week's going well. Turns out I had a bacterial infection on top of my viral infection so I had to dose with a course of antibiotics (which I hate because I feel loopy for a couple of weeks after...*insert sad music*).
So I found a bunch of fussy-cut patterned paper flowers in my stash...and just had to use them on a layout! :)
Never mind that it was for Papa Yam's birthday layout....everyone loves flowers, right? *winks*
