Friday

The one on The Modern Kintsugi workshop

So the other day, I signed up for this mother and daughter event organised by Sephora and Cle de Peau in celebration of Mother's Day. I usually will "park" dad at a shopping mall for the duration of the workshop but this time, it was held at an industrial building and not a mall. But the organizers were kind enough to let him join in the workshop as well. :)

Basically, we get broken pieces of pottery which we get to put back together with gold (epoxy mixed with fine metallic powder). The art symbolises putting back the broken pieces in our lives - instead of hiding the cracks, we show off their beauty by covering them with gold.

The whole experience was quite therapeutic...and we got some lovely door gifts too - a box of macarons, an eye cream sample and a travel-sized lip palette...not too bad for a "free" event.

Happy weekend friends! :)

Thursday's mixed media bird in a new sketchbook

So I started on a new sketchbook...and here is my first page - a mixed media bird done with watercolours and coloured pencils.

Not quite sure about this mixed media paper because it doesn't take a lot of water and peels...and I had to "save" the bird with coloured pencils. But I'm going to continue to work in it with different mediums and see how it turns out. :)

2024's birthday layout

This year's birthday was just a simple one...as my uncle passed away the day before and it seemed inappropriate to even celebrate.

The bestie sent me a cake so we took some photos at home before going out for a quick lunch. My sister also treated me to my first (and currently, only) movie of the year Kungfu Panda.

Anyway, this was one of the fastest layouts ever. The birthday collage piece was taken directly from happy birthday mail packaging and added to the layout as the main decorative element. *LOL*

In case you were wondering, it was a salted caramel cheesecake.:)

Happy week ahead friends!

Friday's desk- last 4 eye drawings in my sketchbook

And yes, we've come to the end of another eye drawing sketchbook *high fives all around*. Here are the last 4 eye drawings...

I think it's time to move to another facial feature...I'm thinking lips/teeth/tongue....that would be challenging.

Enjoy your weekend friends!

Thursday

A weekend out with the folks

Yes, the folks love ice-cream...see their faces light up with an ice-cream cone in hand? *winks*

And yes, I'm using 4R photos because I got a new photo printer - the Canon Selphy Cp1500! *happy music plays in the background*

I still love my Canon Selphy Square QX10 printer but the media is getting really pricey (about S$1 per photo sticker) and the square format is a little limiting as well. Well, now I have 2 options to play with. :)

Anyway, I brought mum to 2 Sephora events on consecutive days and dad tagged along. Because they both got treats like ice-cream!

The photos already take up lots of space so I added some fun bits on the top and bottom.

Hope your week's going well.:)
