Thursday

Being the second child in the family means having my brother in most of my childhood photos.

Let's dress up book

Of late, I've been making 6 x 6 mini album covers. It's a great way to use up scraps and practise my "embellishment clustering" skills...*LOL* I haven't decided what would go into this mini...maybe my childhood photos? I was vain as a little girl and a total bag lady...just have to get round to cropping my brother out of my photos...he's in practically every shot [ the pain of being the second child..*LOL*]

Supplies: Crate Paper chipboard, sticker and papers, May Arts ribbon, Maya Road trim, Jenni Bowlin button, twine, tag, crochet bloom (all from Your Scrapbook Stash)

P/s: Don't forget to enter my "You've got mail" giveaway and the Bows and Berries digi giveaway! :)

I run a tight ship.

Some pics b4 school

Most of you know that I have to handle 3 nephews and I run a tight ship. Roll calls and all.  *LOL* They have to hold hands when we go out and they can't be more than 3 strides away from me [unless they are at the playground or I'm taking their photo]. Of course, they are slightly paranoid about being kidnapped [cartoons where good people get captured by bad people helped to reinforce this...*LOL*] so they stick really close to me. :)

A 15 minute layout. A little misting at the top right corner, corrugated cardboard and lots of stickers! Love how easily this came together with the Simple Stories Baby Steps line [from Your Scrapbook Stash].

P/s: Have a fabulous weekend my friends! Psst...giveaway next week *winks*.

Supplies: Maya Road tin box, Maya Mist, Tattered Angels mists, Lily Bee patterned papers, Fancy Pants chipboard, Crate Paper chipboard, Crate Paper sticker, white ouchless cardboard from Gauche Alchemy, rectangle button, tulle and butterfly from Gauche Alchemy Wedding Night White Mixed Media Color Kit.

Based on statistics....

Change in mood

Based on statistics, I should be a cardmaker because
1. I get more comments on my cards than any other creations.
2. It generally takes me 20 minutes or less to make a card.
3. I have more cards published/win challenges than other creations.

But I primarily scrapbook because of moments like this...littlest nephew J throwing a tantrum at 8.45pm....

And all smiles after a shower at 9.10pm....:)

Supplies: Simple Stories patterned papers, American Crafts thickers, Maya Road chipboard and mists, burlap, twine, white pen.

P/s: Come play along with my guest Chantal's postage stamp challenge! :)

Cherished moments in the car

What is the one thing an overzealous aunt must do when she takes her nephews to school? Take photos in the car of course! *LOL* As always, not very successfully..haha..

I can work with pastels! :)

Little sprout

Littlest nephew J loves to be surrounded by his toys when he's watching his fave Thomas the train DVD which he's seen like 50 times [at least *LOL*]...he laughs out loud before the funny parts come on...pretty entertaining to watch actually. *LOL*

This Simple Stories Baby Steps line [that I got as part of my October DT kit from Your Scrapbook Stash] was surprisingly easy to use. I tend to shy away from pastels because I love to use strong colours in my creations. Guess what? I actually made 5 layouts, 1 card and 1 altered item on Sunday afternoon. Pretty productive to be done with DT assignments before the end of the month...yay, go me! *LOL*

I was inspired by the sketch at Sketchy Thursdays.

Supplies: Simple Stories Baby Steps patterned paper and stickers, Tim Holtz mask, Maya mists, ribbon, buttons, brown pen.

P/s: I would really love for you to play along with my guest Erin's faux letterpress challenge. It ends on Friday! :)

A tribute to my darling boy, Joey.

Celebrate card

Today's post is a tribute to my darling boy, Joey. My 14 year old Shih Tzu died last night. :(  In his heyday, he was a bird-chasing dog with a penchant for apples and low tolerance for people who took too long to serve him his meals. He barked whenever I asked "Who's my darling boy?" and he worked hard for a piece of doggy chocolate. While I'm torn over his passing,  instead of mourning, I'm going to celebrate the wonderful memories he left me. Miss you my darling boy.

Supplies: (from Your Scrapbook Stash) Crate Paper patterned papers, stickers, packaging, button, May Arts ribbon, wooden tag, burlap, twine, distress ink

The art of eating ice-cream

Apparently one has to be schooled on the art of eating an ice-cream cone....at least my nephew O. My sister had to go buy a cone to "demonstrate" the finer points of licking...*LOL*

A little misting and masking and paper piercing....and a whole lot of stickers! :)
 [forgive the crappy iPhone photos]

I was inspired by the challenge at Scrapbookers Anonymous to have a long title.

Supplies: Simple Stories patterned paper and stickers (all from Your Scrapbook Stash), Maya mist, paper piercer, brown pen.

P/s: Hope you had a great weekend friends. Off to catch up on your blogs! :)

Happy birthday Shalini! :)

It's my friend Shalini's birthday and in typical craft blogger style, we are celebrating with a birthday blog hop! [ If you are participating, you should have arrived here from Ujjwal's blog!] :)

I made her a little birthday album to commemorate this wonderful day! :)

The front and back covers are upcycled cardboard pieces which I covered with Simple Stories papers and decorated with some stickers and buttons.

I inked up some kraft papers for her to add her photos and thoughts about her birthday.:)

If you would like to see what the other crafters made and win some prizes along the way *wink*, here's the list of crafters participating...

A two-pager! :)

Hey...is that a two-page spread? Why yes it is! *LOL* The team at YSS are all working on two-pagers this month. I don't do two-pagers very often because

1. They are so hard to photograph...[see photo above as proof]
2. I'm afraid they might get mixed up when the pages are separated...
One fine Sunday pg1

So all my two-pagers are actually stand-alone pages...even if the pages are separated [gasp! the horror! *LOL*],  it doesn't take a genius to figure out the story...:)
One fine Sunday pg2
Supplies: (from YSS) Simple Stories Happy Day Collection papers and stickers, Maya Road stamp. Others: Brilliance ink, white pen.

Friday

I have a confession.

Missing you tag

I have a confession. Every Friday I've been sharing a tag from my spare projects stash. Last month was a good month and I made more projects than I shared. This month I seem to be dropping all the balls I've been juggling...*LOL*

I wish I could freeze time, get a whole year's work done, unfreeze time and enjoy the rest of the year! Wouldn't that be nice? :)

P/s: Have a fabulous weekend friends! Going off-grid till Monday...okay with periodic checks on my phone! :)

Supplies (from Your Scrapbook Stash): Echo Park Papers and sticker.
