The journey to pocket page scrapbooking....

Pocket-pages-altered-spine-album

So the key to getting started on pocket page scrapbooking is really in the album. Love this Simple Stories SN@P! 6x8 burlap binder that I got as part of my design team assignment for my LSS Made With Love . I couldn't bear to cover up the chevron design so I decided to "alter" the spine instead [modeling paste with The Crafter's Workshop, black gesso, burlap, bloom, leather strap from an old shoe].

You can tell that I haven't quite gotten the sizing of the photos quite right...*LOL*

I didn't have any Project Life Cards so I had to dig into my scrap stash. Yeah, and the corner rounder was tooooooooo far away! *winks*

I love the Basic Pages that came with the album though. Because I could add more dimensional items. I didn't have any reinforcement rings so I added a strip of washi tape on both sides.

I have to say that pocket page scrapbooking wasn't that easy for me because I had to pare down my embellishments and think "smaller". But it's been a fun journey. :)

If you reside in Singapore, you can get this awesome binder and the supplies for this project at Made With Love Singapore. You can also view this album later this week at the store.

Happy birthday Shalini! :)

It's my friend Shalini's birthday and in typical craft blogger style, we are celebrating with a birthday blog hop! [ If you are participating, you should have arrived here from Ujjwal's blog!] :)

I made her a little birthday album to commemorate this wonderful day! :)

The front and back covers are upcycled cardboard pieces which I covered with Simple Stories papers and decorated with some stickers and buttons.

I inked up some kraft papers for her to add her photos and thoughts about her birthday.:)

If you would like to see what the other crafters made and win some prizes along the way *wink*, here's the list of crafters participating...

The unveiling of the super secret project! *winks*

If you spot three boys and a girl at a park/playground with a camera, it's probably me and my "entourage" (aka nephews)! :)

A day at the park mini album pages

I don't make a lot of mini albums because stuff inevitably fall off...my dad has commented that "acid-free glue is lousy!" *LOL*

But minis are great for using up little bits of scrap and making you feel better when you ruin a perfectly good piece of 4 x 12 cardstock.  You can use it as a base for your mini album like a I did! Good save! *LOL*

Supplies: American Crafts patterned papers, glitter cardstock, vellum, ribbon and stamps. SRM stickers. Brilliance inks. Wrinkle ribbon. Button.

And now, the unveiling of the super secret project....*winks*

Some of you got it right....yes, it's a brand new challenge site! Yay! :) As part of its pre-launch, there will be a big manufacturer giveaway and a super fun contest! It opens its doors next Monday! I hope you will stop by my blog then to get more details about how you can partake! :)

P/s: Have the most awesome weekend friends! And please come play along with my guest Helen's modern shabby challenge! :)

Road trip

Road trip

So I made a mini album last weekend. This road trip album was inspired by these cute papers from My Little Shoebox [You can tell how much I love them!]...for a road trip that hasn't happened yet...I've long admired those who bring a semi-completed album on their travels and just add photos, journaling and ephemera on the trip. Now I'm one trip ahead! :)
