Using Valentine-themed stickers on food travel pages

I have a few of sheets of Bo Bunny Valemtine-themed stickers in my sticker stash for years. I've used a few in layouts featuring some couples in my life. But recently I discovered another way to use them...in my food layouts...ehh..because I have that kind of passion for great food! *winks*

I love when food is plated up in a visually appealing manner...it gets me excited to eat! If you were wondering where the "physical attraction" text came from, it was from the packaging of a sunscreen.

I went with two 4x6 photos so I didn't really have much "space" to decorate except on the photos. :)

Anyway, these pages are from my travel planner. And I'm still on last year's Sydney trip because I took a gazillion food photos (no skipping of meals when you are on Aussie soil!). This was dinner at a seafood restaurant in Darling Harbour.

This place offers a really yummy sticky date pudding - well-balanced and not too sweet.  :)

Let's not dwell on the fact that this gal had 2 desserts at dinner, shall we? *LOL*

Hanging out with my Aussie mate - pages from my travel planner

Whenever I'm in Sydney, I get to meet my Aussie mate Lizzy twice. She would take the train to the city to meet me for tunch (lunch + tea). She usually needs to leave at around 2.30pm because it takes her 90 mins to get back to her suburb plus she still needs to drive home from the train station. And of course she has to get home before 5pm or risk the wrath of her hubby. *winks*

Actually her hubby Tom is the sweetest man. He cooked me lunch. And look, the napkins match the Christmas pressie I gave Lizzy. And Lizzy told me that he took out the good china the night before too. Few people invite me to their homes for a home-cooked meal (I do get treats at restaurants though...) so I'm always grateful. ;)

Anyway, the second time I get to meet Lizzy, I have to travel to her turf by train and she will pick me up at the train station. We would then go Op Shop (thrift stores in Australia) Shopping and do a supermarket run for Aussie goodies (chocolates, Tim Tams, cookies etc etc) before packing my loot in my trusty cabin trolley and saying our bittersweet goodbyes at the train station (all before her 5pm home for dinner curfew..LOL*).

Happy Tuesday friends! :)

More food pages from the travel planner

Hello friends! Today I bring to you more food pages from the travel planner.... this time from a quaint French bistro! :)

It was a cold winter's night in Sydney. When your Uber driver can't find your location on his GPS and by the time you get into the vehicle you get caught in the evening city traffic, one must remedy that traumatic experience with yummy French food. For a start, French onion soup served with Gruyère cheese croutons and steamed mussels in white wine sauce.

Then something a little more hearty..like lamb..

And of course Confit de canard.

If you are ever in Sydney, do visit Bistro Papillon for classic French food done really well. Seating is really limited (I made an online booking before I flew to Sydney) so make a reservation.

Hope you are having a great week so far! We are officially in Phase 1 of the reopening of the Singapore economy with kids back in school but those who can work from home must still do so. Food is still takeaway only so my life is pretty much still stuck at home except for grocery runs. What about you?

Food pages from the travel planner

Hello friends! Hope you had a great weekend! Today I'm sharing some food pages from the travel planner. :)

Yep...we're still on the travel pages from Sydney 2019. Just. Too. Much. Good. Food. *LOL*

Nothing like a good lunch at my fave Italian restaurant in Sydney CBD - Intermezzo. The food is just impeccable. Just when I thought my fave pasta is fettuccine...I try the Pappardelle pasta and suddenly that is my new fave. *winks*

And those who like fish will appreciate the crispy skin and the succulent flesh...cooked to perfection.

The Aussies sure know how to cook fish! :)

Of course, one must end a fine-dining meal with a plated dessert that is Insta-worthy.

Like a decadent dark chocolate tart with berries. Total yumminess!

P/s: Meanwhile your gal here is ticking off items on her to-make/to-bake bucket list while she's stuck at home. ;)

Early dinner at Darling Harbour - pages from the travel planner

So I'm living vicariously through my travel food photos at the moment. You know, back when the world was functioning as per normal  and we could all dine out? Seemed like aeons ago...eh? *dramatic sad music plays in the background*

But that time will come again. *Hopeful music plays in the background*
What would your first dine-out meal be when this blows over?

A slab of barbecued ribs with fries?

Fried succulent calamari?

Tell me, what are you looking forward to eating? Let's go big on this shall we? *winks*

Crispy skin barramundi?

Octopus cooked in any style?
Yes, lots of seafood choices when having dinner at Darling Harbour in Sydney. *LOL*

Enjoy your Wednesday friends! Meanwhile, I'm off to get a snack...these food pics are making me hungry!;)

More pages from the travel planner - Sydney 2019

Hello friends! Just sharing more pages from the travel planner - Sydney 2019. :)

We had so much to talk about and had to do another round of sweet treats and pots of tea. It's amazing how we "met" through our blogs and have become great friends over the past few years. :)

And here I was...all freshened up after the tea, all ready to head out for an early dinner. It was a last-minute trip and I had to fly to another city (red-eye flight) before taking a connecting flight so I think I cleaned up pretty well for someone who had like 2 hours of sleep (red lipstick and glitter on the eyes really help one look more human...hehehe). It was tempting to just go to bed for sure but I stayed awake as long as possible to adjust to the 3 hour time difference.

Really simple pages but I'm happy that I got to use up more paper scraps.

Hope you are keeping yourself mentally strong and physically safe wherever in the world you are my friends!

Wednesday

This week's pages from the travel planner- Sydney 2019.

With the global COVID-19 pandemic curtailing non-essential travel for the time being (9 weeks and counting), your wanderlust friend here is taking solace in scrapbooking her backlog of travel photos from the past few years. 2020 may well be a year of creative completion of projects that should have been done ages ago. *LOL*

Anyway, in last week's post, you saw that my Aussie pal Lizzy got a pressie from me. Here she is photographed with her box of word diecuts! Yes, it was hours of hard work cranking those out with my trusty Cuttlebug machine...but I had help from my intern (aka niece) of course. *winks*

Lunch was in a lovely courtyard..so I got to create my "scene" with butterflies and clouds. You know I love being extra. *hehehe*

And of course, with Round 1 being so yummy, we went for Round 2. Total necessity.;) *high fives all around*

Here is a closeup view of the food. Clearly we have to head back to try the rest of the yummy desserts. Hopefully soon. *Cautiously optimistic music plays in the background*

P/s: Now that we are spending more time at home, what are the projects you are hoping to complete?

More pages from the travel planner - Sydney 2019

Hello friends! I'm back to share more pages from the travel planner. A continuation from last week's post: a page from the travel planner.

We went for lunch/tea at La Renaissance Patisserie and Cafe. I googled the place and it had great reviews and a lovely courtyard for dining in.

So Lizzy said she had to have something savoury for lunch so she went with a spinach quiche and coffee. I went straight for the sugar because I didn't sleep all night on the plane (which resulted in poor decision-making...*LOL*).

Anyway, I got the almond croissant, a hot chocolate and a cake to share with my pal.

In case you were wondering, the cake was a raspberry mousse with a creamy passionfruit centre, almond nougatine, pain de genes biscuit base. And everything was sooooooo good that we went for Round 2. *hehehe*

I'm really enjoying doing these travel planner spreads because there are perfect for those thin paper strips from the scrap pile. :)

And of course, I brought my pal a gift. I mean she did travel 100+ mins by car and train to meet me in the city. See a familiar decorated paper bag? *winks*

Happy week ahead friends! :)

A page from the travel planner

Er...yes, it's been a while since I've shared any travel pages because it's been a while since I did any travel pages. *LOL* Well, things are going to be different in 2020 (mostly because the mobile phone is running out of storage so I don't have that much of a choice..hehe) because this year will be a year of completion. *encouraging music plays in the background*

Well, enough waffling...let's look at my travel page shall we? The photo was taken back in July 2019, when I was in Sydney and got to meet up with my mate Lizzy Hill! We stopped for a "friends in sunnies" photo on the way to lunch. :)

I decided to change to form factor for my personal travel layouts for 2019. Instead of using the Traveller's Notebooks (as used previously), I went with a large 6 whole file planner type system so that I had a little more flexibility in the order that I created the pages (I could do later trips first instead of doing them chronologically based on the calendar year). Plus I could actually put to use these large Kikki K Planners that I have in my stash.

I used up lots of paper strips from my scrap pile and made a teeny dent in my letter sticker stash. Yay, go me!

Happy week ahead friends! :)
