Wednesday

The convenience factor...

An-awesome-day

So it turns out that I may be the super lazy kind of crafter. The bulk of my supplies used to be conveniently located at the doorway, just outside my bedroom. It wasn't a case of "out of sight, out of mind" since they are in open baskets which I see every single time I enter/leave my room. And yet, I find myself rummaging through supplies on my desk to complete my projects, neglecting the bulk of good stuff outside.

These days I've been using my punches a lot more simply because they are now conveniently located within my room after a recent supply reorganization [Hmmmm...I could potentially have a smaller butt if I did more "shopping" along my doorway! *LOL*]....

Just a layout of my niece and nephew. I was inspired by the sketch at Creative Scrappers and the song at Scrapping the Music.

Supplies: Basic Grey patterned papers, Crafter's Workshop template, Maya mists, Fiskars corner punch, EK Success circle punch, Imaginisce chipboard, SRM stickers, American Crafts foam thickers, Black Sharpie, buttons, black pen, white pen.

*Edited* This layout was a winner at Scrapping The Music. :)

A crazy Saturday!

It's-crazy-time!

So I had these two [3 year old nephew J and 1 year old niece S] for most part of Saturday. It was crazy! They really worked me like a horse. Literally! Apparently, "riding" on Aunt Y and falling onto the bed for the hundredth time is always fun! Let's just say the hips got quite a bit of a workout. *LOL*

And we had a crazy time with my phone camera! :)

I was inspired by the chevron challenge at Scrap Africa and the sketch at Creative Scrappers.

Supplies: Basic Grey patterned papers, Crafter's Workshop template, Golden fiber paste, American Crafts thickers, EAD Designs stickers, Jenni Bowlin and Toga letter stickers, buttons, trim, brown pen, ribbon, brads.

*Edited* This layout made Top 3 at Scrap Africa!:)

Meeting a bloggy pal in Melbourne...

Meeting-Lynnda-in-Melbourne

During my recent trip to Melbourne, I had the chance to meet up with my bloggy pal Lynnda Hosni of ArtyScrappy. :)

We had lunch at a lovely patisserie...We had lots to talk about since we grew up in the same country. :)

Photobucket

A little Crafter's Workshop template and fiber paste Chevron action, stamping on an ice-cream stick [Yes, we eat a lot of ice-cream here!], pull-out tag with hidden journaling [Hehe...not telling you what we chatted about...*LOL*]

The naughty phase

Naughty

So littlest nephew J is officially into his terrible 3s phase. Naughty beyond a shadow of a doubt. It's spontaneous combustion when he can't get his way....and it's ugly! *LOL*

Does he get his way? Hmmmm....
I usually let him go at it for a minute or so to let him get his frustration out of his system...then he has to stop and tell me what he wants. Since I'm a skilled negotiator, we always end with peace....and sometimes, candy. *LOL*

I used the sketch at Creative Scrappers.

Supplies Basic Grey patterned papers and brad, MT tape, Maya mists, American Crafts thickers, ribbon, button, thread, black pen.

Guess who was trying to tickle himself?

Whatcha doing

Littlest nephew J is a constant source of entertainment for me. He laughs very loudly when watching cartoons he has seen a gazillion times and starts giggling non-stop before the tickle monster [aka me] even touches him. On this occasion, he was trying to tickle himself.  *LOL*

Still very into the chevron trend *winks*....Love that this only took 30 minutes. Love going the minimalist route! :)

Playing along with the challenge at Creative Scrappers.

Supplies: Fancy Pants patterned papers, Crafter's Workshop template, Maya mist, Prima canvas letters, Jenni Bowlin letter stickers, Fontwerks stamp, ribbon, stick, button, stickers, brown pen.

P/s: Come play along with my guest Isha's challenge and LESSology Challenge #16: Bubble boy or girl. :)

I'm really not that into you, distress stains.

Unveil true love

This is the layout that made me realize that I'm not really into distress stains. Seriously. After 10 bottles. *LOL* Tim Holtz made it look so cool with his demos...I've tried it so many times but just don't like distress stains' diluted consistency. Then Tim had to go introduce the white Picket Fence colour...apparently the key to blending it all. That was my 10th bottle. Still don't like it. Have any of you tried distress stains?

Kind of makes of my leaves look like a three-year old's doodles right? I used a template for the leaves, then decided to colour in with distress stains...didn't quite work so I used some watercolour crayons to try to "salvage" the leaves...*LOL* Oh well, it does seem to go well with the fake blooms eh?

I used the sketch at Creative Scrappers. [Photos: My cousin and her husband]

Supplies: Crafter's Workshop Balzer Designs template, Maya mists, 7 Gypsies velvet blooms, Prima paper blooms, Heidi Swapp chipboard, SRM stickers, Ranger distress stain, ink and stickles, Sharpies,  brads, watercolour crayon, ribbon.

P/s: Don't forget to play along with my guest Virginia's shopping challenge....the prize is a $15 gift certificate to The Crop Shop....it ends on Friday!

The story about the belated birthday celebration.

Cupcakes

Hello friends! Today I want to share with you the story about littlest nephew J's belated birthday celebration. Yes, this aunt dropped the ball and celebrated her fave nephew's birthday 12 days later *Gasp* [bad, bad aunt!!!]. Not only did this aunt blame the heavy rain for ruining her trip to the cakeshop, she even attempted to....[wait for it, it's so bad it's good]...quietly "manufacture" a fake birthday memory for her nephew's scrapbook!

Oh yes, my intent was to let the nephews pose with the 3 angry birds cupcakes and then make a layout about J's birthday...even though I was totally late for it [sheepish grin]. The older two nephews weren't too happy about having to sing the birthday song again but perked up immediately when they were told that henceforth, all their birthday celebrations will be month-long! I think they were thinking about month-long cakes and presents! *LOL*

J was very happy about munching off the angry bird's head and then sharing his cupcake with his sister S. :)

I went a little crazy with the stickers...*winks*

Playing along with song title challenge at The Studio [mine's "Happy birthday to you! "] and the sketch at Creative Scrappers.

Supplies: Echo Park patterned papers and stickers, Crafter's Workshop templates, Maya mists, American Crafts thickers, SRM stickers, Ranger distress ink, ribbon, washi tape, foam, black pen, white pen.

After a visit to my mane man...

After a visit to my mane man

My hair only looks good after a visit to my mane man. He has taught me all the ways to give body to my fine hair and I have bought all the tools - the curler, the crimper...etc but I can never re-create the same look. Okay...I'm just too lazy to primp the hair...I love to just wash and go! *LOL*

Photobucket

I had fun working the new American Crafts Dear Lizzy line with some American Crafts and Pebbles scraps and lots of stickers. :) [Pardon the iPhone photos...should have printed in b/w...]

A handmade felt bloom, stamping on an ice-cream stick, fussy-cutting mixed with stickers.

I wanted to play along with Punky Scraps recipe challenge [I used a kraft base, photo of me and fabric] and used the sketch at Creative Scrappers. Also tried to incorporate the neon trend aka my guest Michelle's neon challenge. :)

Supplies: Pebbles patterned papers, American Crafts patterned papers and stickers, Maya Road trinket pin and stamp, Fiskars edge punch, gray ink, brown pen, buttons, handmade felt bloom, doiley.

I love the new Little Darlings line! :)

Hello Justin

I love the new Little Darlings line by Graphic 45. Just so pretty! :) Perfect for scrapping photos of my cousin's little bundle of joy - Justin!

Photobucket

A little misting and masking on the background....

And yes, I accidentally printed the same photo twice so the shot of my sister carrying little Justin was mounted on 3D dots for dimension.

Photobucket

Notice the mega boo boo? The baby boy was blond so I coloured his hair with Copics...a little overzealously...*LOL*

I used the sketch at Creative Scrappers and was inspired by the song at Scrapping The Music.

Supplies: Graphic 45 patterned papers, Maya mists, Heidi Swapp chipboard letters, Ranger distress ink, buttons, thread, brown pen, trim, plastic and iron grids as masks.

P/s: Just one more day to play along with my guest Emily's multi-loop bow challenge...it ends on Friday!

I went for a 8.5 x 11 layout...and ended with a two-pager!

I love Sydney

So I decided to try a 8.5 x 11 layout since I discovered a pack of A4 page protectors in my stash. But had to make it a 2-pager because I didn't have enough space for the layout I envisioned...*LOL*

I had a lot of fun using my paper scraps from My Mind's Eye and lots of stickers! :)

Some stamping and a cover-up [I blotched the stamping...so I covered up with some patterned paper and distracted with a fabulous twine action...*Did it work? ].

I scanned a map and printed it out on transparency to pinpoint the exact location the photos were taken.

Check out the cute little girl that was coloured with copics and paper pieced...[aka my guest Annette's colouring and paper piecing challenge].

I was inspired by the sketch at Creative Scrappers and the 'G' challenge at Scrapbookers Anonymous [I am the girl in the photos and I also have a paper pieced little girl *grins*].

Supplies: My Mind's Eye patterned papers, Soft Pencil image, American Crafts felt thickers, SRM sticker, Sam and Lucy stickers,7 Gypsies sticker, Imaginisce sticker, Fiskars border punch, Fancy Pants chipboard frame, Maya Road mist, Technique Tuesday and Fontwerks stamps, The twinery twine, printed transparency, brads, black pen, paper doilies, wrinkle ribbon, copics.

P/s: Don't forget to play along with my guest Annette's colouring and paper piecing challenge...it ends on Friday! :)

The negotiator

The negotiator

So I was tired of having to mediate between the two older nephews when they fought over things...and taught the six year old how to "negotiate" with his brother so that they both get what they want.

S has become quite the negotiator and I can get away with buying just one toy and making them share! *LOL*

I was inspired by the sketch at Creative Scrappers. All supplies from the Gauche Alchemy Acme Kit. Find out how you can win yourself a three-month subscription to the Gauche Alchemy Acme Kit in this post Giveaway: 3 months of Acme Awesome. :)
