Another week, another page from the gratitude journal - ombre nails

Last year, I discovered nail extensions in Vietnam and explored the lengths and shapes that suited my lifestyle. Since I do a lot of cooking and cleaning, even though I wear gloves, too long nails are not very practical for me. I like them slightly over my finger tips so that I can wear them for 3 weeks (that's when I get bored with the design/colour...*LOL*)

The first set of extensions lasted 2 weeks before I broke a nail while opening the fridge door. This set of ombre nails lasted 3 weeks before I broke it the same way (my fridge is a danger zone...hahaha). I have since learnt how to do nail extensions at home...so that I can fix a broken nail or 2.

Let the good times roll card

These days I've really been enjoying piecing these quick cards with random scrap bits in my stash. Mixing old oddly shaped bits with a little new stash just gets my creative juices flowing again.:)

Finished with some gold mist of course. Let the good times roll...*LOL*

Workspace Wednesday - dinner at my fave French restaurant in Hanoi

Well, this is why I generally don't share pictures of me...I look awkward and uncomfortable in front of the camera. Definitely due to childhood "trauma". I was scouted as a teen and went for a casting session...where the photographer told me that "the camera does not love me.." aka I am not photogenic. I always thought that it didn't matter since I wasn't keen on modelling anyway. But apparently, it does affect me....I just don't like being in photos. *LOL*

Anyway, here is a rare photo of me at my fave French restaurant in Hanoi.

Tuesday's page from the gratitude journal - new eye shadow palette

Happy Tuesday friends! Here's today's page from the gratitude journal - a new eye shadow palette! You know how I love colour... in all aspects of my life *winks* so I was really happy to get the Yucca palette by Natasha Denona...one of my fave makeup brands. Yellow on the eyelid is actually quite flattering as it instantly brightens up your eye area. It's a colour I use frequently on my eye drawings too.:)

P/s: What is your must-have makeup item/ beauty product?

Just a day out with mum

I used to "drag" my sister along to attend Sephora events with me. Now I just bring mum. *winks*

At first, she said nobody her age goes to such events. Now she's very happy to be my Plus One. Especially when she gets the attendee goody bag. *LOL*

It is nice to spend some time together out of the house...especially when I don't have to cook!

Plus mum is always happy to have her photo taken...:)

Thursday's page from the gratitude journal

I love picking up a few new colours of the Holbein Artist Colored Pencils every time I visit my art supply store (3x a year). It is amazing how a few new colours can create more depth and interest to your drawings (at least to my eye drawings...*winks*). I will eventually work my way to all 150 colours. *LOL*

Another week, another quick portrait

I love seeing how much depth I can get using just one coloured pencil for my portrait sketch. Probably need to work on some happier faces....my faces tend to look a little sad and pensive, eh? *LOL*

Monday's layout - new year's day

So we went out to celebrate New Year's Day + E's birthday on 1st January 2024.

My sister wanted to try this new restaurant where you have to cook your own beef....and it can get quite fiery. *winks*

Dad of course overcooked his beef because he put every single piece on the grill and can't eat them in time. *LOL*

Also, he was wearing a thin see-through shirt and proving two points (hence my sister had to cover up those bits with her hands (see photo #2)....hehehe.

My sister was busy redeeming all her "free" birthday treats at the start of her birthday month so I bought the "kids" ice-cream and got a sweet photo (even though you can clearly see that dad has bitten into his ice-cream already...hahaha).

Happy week ahead friends!

Friday's desk: a sweet decorated envelope

Is it Friday already? It's been an eventful week...as I get into the swing of things in 2024. No big upheavals so far ...so we are getting life done along with some well-deserved "me time". :)

Just a sweet decorated envelope with some bits from recent Christmas happy mail...and a little Stickles action.

Have a great weekend friends!:)
