Error 99
I'm experiencing a little separation anxiety today. My "baby" has to be "hospitalized" for the next 7 days. We have not spent a day apart since 2007. *LOL* The dreaded Error 99. [Be gentle with him, good folks at Canon!]
Which resulted in nephew #2 having just this ONE not-so-perfect picture to commemorate his 5th birthday...:( Of course I could just gone to get another camera but we all really wanted to just eat the cake....*LOL*
I was inspired by the challenge at Scrap-It-Lah this month to use old book paper, fussy cutting and handstitching.
Supplies: Simple Stories patterned papers and stickers, old book paper, gesso, distress ink, punchinella as a mask, cardboard, white pen, stickles, buttons, ribbon, thread.
P/s: Have an amazing weekend friends! :)

The reluctant poser
Nephew #2 doesn't have many individual shots because he tends to freeze up in front of the camera...really the reluctant poser.
I wanted to play along with Scrap It Lah's challenge this month...to incorporate misting, stamping and embossing and to dress up a raw chipboard.
Supplies: Echo Park Papers and stickers, Unity Stamp Co stamps, Fancy Pants star chipboard, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Maya mists, Kaisercraft wood embellishment, plastic mesh from Gauche Alchemy used for masking, buttons, thread, wrinkle ribbon, brown pen, white pen, baker's twine.
P/s: Come play along with my guest Erum's ribbon flower challenge! :)
Thursday
Basking in the morning light
My littlest nephew J. Day after his second birthday. Basking in the morning light. Oblivious to his own charm. :)
I doodled with a white pen for a little sunburst effect.
Love the patterned papers from Pink Paislee. All I did was stamp and add some fun embellishments by Gauche Alchemy. Stickers from 7 Gypsies, SRM stickers, Jenni Bowlin and American Crafts. 3D dots for dimension.
Inspired by the two-photo challenge at Scrap It Lah.
*Edited* I won this challenge at Scrap It Lah. Sweet! :)
Read a book
I love to read. Apparently, it runs in the family...check out my littlest nephew J..."reading" his picture book. It occupied him for a whole hour. He would turn the page, flip open the window, point to it and exclaim : "Bird!" Yes, a toddler does have a limited vocabulary...*LOL*
This layout came together quite quickly [in the wee hours of the morning actually] inspired by the mood board challenge over at Scrap It Lah.
Echo Park Papers. American Crafts Puffy Stickers. Buttons. Stickles. Glimmer mists. SRM stickers. Other stickers. Baker's twine. Gold sequins. Rub-ons. Office stationery.

Tweet nest
Yeah. Corny I know. Tweet nest. That's what you get when you are trying to use your remaining alphas creatively...*LOL*.. So...do you like my tweet nest? ;) Dreamy? It really does look sweet and very sparkly...just super hard to photograph (gloomy weather not helping either!)
The base is clear acrylic...edges inked with pink Stazon...Patterned paper is from American Crafts...a lot of fussy cutting before adhering to the acrylic ..some distressed stickles in rock candy for sparkle...Pink tulle and pearls around the edges...Felt on Maya Road chipboard bird...stickles on American Crafts foam alphas...handmade felt flowers (and some ready-made ones from American Crafts).
I was inspired by the challenge at Scrap-It-Lah to alter something. It looks deceptively simple but took a really long time to complete...if you've worked with acrylic, you understand the pain...the need to be ultra careful because glue smudges stick out like a sore thumb...*LOL*
Tuesday
Smitten
Smitten. I'm totally smitten. This is the moment. He's going to kiss me! Oh, I have butterflies in my stomach...He inches his face forward. What should I do? Close my eyes and savour this moment? Or keep them open so that I can watch as his lips touch my cheek?
He aims for the cheek and misses. OUCH!
The magical moment is over. I remember the pain on my nose and the massive drool. Fortunately he only has four teeth..still smitten though...how can anyone resist this cute face?
Just sharing a layout of my littlest nephew J, as inspired by the challenge at Scrap It Lah. Some misting on the background...patterned papers are from American Crafts and My Little Shoebox, Prima flowers, chipboard letters are from Heidi Swapp, b/w embellishments are from 7 Gypsies and some handstitching.
Saturday
Sassitude
I really wanted to play with Scrap It Lah's challenge to use products from at least 10 manufacturers and Sassitude is what I have to show for it....the layout features my friend Karen's girl, V, at Club Med in Bali, cooling off in the pool and with an icy cold drink...:) It also includes a little quilling (okay just a baby step!)
Patterned papers are from October Afternoon, Sassafras, Fancy Pants and Collage Press, mists from Maya Road, ribbon from American Crafts, brads and photo turn from Craft Affair, letter stickers from Cosmo Cricket, SRM stickers and Sam & Lucy, animal stickers from SW, stickles from Ranger, crepe paper and button.

Melbourne in Autumn
This was a quick layout I put together for the challenge at Scrap It Lah. The fussy cutting was done a while ago (while watching tv ;) so I just had to assemble the pieces and glue them down. My layout, Melbourne in Autumn, features the view of the city from my hotel room (37th floor of the Sofitel).
Patterned paper is from Imagination Project, flowers from Sullivan's, bling brads and butterflies (courtesy of Cindy Lee), rub-ons are from Autumn leaves, title letters are from SEI and Cosmo Cricket. Pin It
Wednesday
New York
This layout was inspired by this month's challenge at Scrap-It-Lah...to scrap a vacation. I visited New York for the first time in 2007. One of my first stops after checking in was a visit to the Empire State Building of course...(think Sleepless in Seatle)...
Crepe paper along the borders (I used my trusty stapler!), ribbon, buttons, a little handstitching and yummy Como Cricket papers.
P/s: I'm out of the country and experiencing poor internet connectivity. I will resume visiting your blogs when I get back this weekend. My google reader count is at 700+ at the moment..yikes! Pin It
Tuesday
Four happy minutes
These were some of the photos of my three nephews taken in four happy minutes...:) It was a hilarious shoot...which totally warrants a two-page spread... for this page, I used the sketch from this month's challenge at Scrap It Lah....using my Graphic 45 scraps and a whole lot of handstitching!
I'll show you the second page tomorrow....I used the same papers but used a different sketch (who says two-pagers need to be from a single sketch? ) Happy Tuesday! :)
P/s: I'm out of the country and experiencing really slow internet access :( I will get to visiting your blogs in a few days!
*Edited* I won the challenge at Scrap It Lah! :) Pin It
