My latest love...Prima resist chalk edgers

A-dream-is-a-wish-your-heart-makes-canvas

I am currently enamoured with Prima resist chalk edgers. :)

They glide on so easily and are permanent when dry so you can layer and spritz with wild abandon![If you play with mediums, you will understand how cool this is...*winks*]

I love inks that you can use in different ways without ruining your manicure...*winks*. I used three ink colours + water for the entire canvas.

Don't you love this beautiful sentiment?

Celebrating the international aspect of card making!

Birthday-card-by-Yvonne-Yam-for-WCMD

Hello friends! Tomorrow is World Card Making Day and I'm joining 11 other fabulous card makers from around the world to celebrate the international aspect of card making via Paper Crafts Magazine. Big thanks to Cath Edvalson for including me in the showcase! :)

I've definitely made the most online friends through card making. The irony is that I only started making cards to use up the scraps from layouts! *LOL*
So, did I get to "know" you via card making? *winks*

Please check out the other 11 cards in this international showcase over at Paper Crafts Connection and leave a comment there for your chance to win this yummy prize. :)

P/s: Happy weekend friends! Just a few more days to play along with LESSology Challenge #29: Birthday Party! If you are into layouts, please play along with Blue Fern Studios October sketch challenge!

A tag with lace scraps....

Tag-from-scraps

So I had little remnant bits of lace left over from previous projects that were sitting in a ziplog bag, begging for some love..*winks*

They were in various shades of white...but after gluing them down with gel medium and running some gelatos over them, you can't really tell! *winks*

New-found love for black...

Birthday-wishes-tag

Have you noticed my new-found love for black?  I love how classy and elegant black is! :)

I took the black from the patterned paper and extended it to the embellishment cluster.

And black really goes well with my gold obsession! *winks*

My latest obsession...

Grunge-bird-tag

So what's my latest obsession? Daler Rowney Liquid Acrylics. Yum.

They come in dropper bottles and the pearlescent ones have an awesome sheen to them. I started with some gesso on the Ranger grungeboard base. Then I added a few drops of liquid acrylics, ran a texture comb through [the white lines], let the colours blend on their own and left it to dry overnight. [I like to be surprised in the mornings...*winks*

After that,  just add a few embellishments and the tag is all done! :)

Celebrate .... a giveaway winner! :)

Celebrate-tag

Sometimes it's hard to find a huge chunk of time to sit down and craft. Or when you finally have time to sit down and craft, all you hear are crickets chirping....*LOL*

I try to sneak in little bits of creative time here and there on weekends...like fussy-cutting when the nephews are watching the same cartoon for the 100th time....or adding glass bead gel medium to a project...

This tag was done during a screening of Madagascar 3. Love when I get something done and spend time with my fave little people. Celebrate the little victories in life right? :)

Thank you friends! :)

Thank-u-CD-cover

My friends, thank you for the comments in the post How to grow a blog following. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that blogging is hard work! *LOL*

One of the ways I get projects done quickly is to "scraplift" myself. This is a huge time-saver because you have done certain steps before so you spend less time fiddling. For instance, this base of this CD/DVD cover is adhered in washi tape like a previous upcycled CD/DVD holder project

The key is to vary the layout and the elements. That switches things up and keeps it looking fresh and interesting when it essentially is the same project [uh..huh...I hear glass shattering...less impressed by me now eh? *LOL*]

Here are the projects side by side...

Need to pass some photos to someone? Why not burn them on a rewritable disc in a upcycled decorated cover like this? Playing along with the gift-packaging challenge at Moxie Fab World

P/s: Last day to enter my Faber Castell giveaway!

*Edited* This CD holder is a winner at Moxie Fab World! :)
