Home Beauty

Supplies: Patterned paper: Sassafras, Basic Grey & Cosmo Cricket, Cardstock: Bazzill, Stickers: 7 Gypsies & Ptovo Craft, Others: Glitter stickers, butterfly applique (courtesy of Jeanet), transparency, masking tape, black ink.

Meet my Home Beauty...my suede boots...that I've only worn out once since I got it in 2007...why? Because it inadvertently rains the moment I think about wearing them. Oh yes, I can conjure rain by thought. If I think about the boots the night before, it rains the next morning. I have dresses and a matching bag to go with these boots but can only admire them at home...:(

7 things in my bag

Supplies: Patterned paper: Basic Grey & Cosmo Cricket, Cardstock: Bazzill, Chipboard: Heidi Swapp, Others: pearls, ribbon, wood tags, black pen, thread.

This post 7 Things in My Bag is dedicated to my friend Juhi who makes really pretty cards...I met her via Card Patterns....:) Thank you for this....

I would like to pass this award to my blogland friends... Maggi, Carrie, Cindy, Jeanet, Mirjam, Aimee and Dora.

Remember the bag that Michelle Pfeiffer had in One Fine Day? The one that George Clooney was so amazed by because it had everything? Well, I have one of THOSE...I do so admire people who can go around in tiny dainty purses...are you one of them? These are just 7 things I have in my bag...it can store a lot! Feel free to share with me what's in your bag...:)

Me

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill, Chipboard letters: Heidi Swapp, Others: Buttons, lace, ribbon, pearls, crochet flowers with mirrored centers, stamp, toilet paper.
Please click on picture to see the details.

The challenge over at Mix It Up is to do a monochromatic layout using white. Yes, white! What a challenge! I decided to scrap an old photo of myself - me at age 5 or 6 I think...and pulled out my white embellishments - some crochet flowers with mirrored centers, white pearls, white lace (recycled from old clothes), ribbon, buttons. The row of tags was done using paper casting. The overall piece actually looks pretty dreamy but it was so hard to photograph... Pin It

I'm so proud of this little poser! He's well-trained and always ready to pose for a photo. I've been sticking a camera in front of his face every Saturday (or whenever my brother brings him over) since he was 2 years old (he'll be 5 in November) and it clearly shows! He's always ready to smile or make funny faces at the camera...My sweet nephew...:)

Mix It Up with Scrapping The Music

I've combined Mixer #11 at Mix It Up with this week's Scrapping The Music challenge. The mixers are to scrap about inanimate objects and have a title of at least 6 words while the song at Scrapping The Music is "We will rock you".

This layout is about the RED TRAIN I bought for my nephews when I was in Thailand in 2007. By the looks of it, it is pretty ordinary. It doesn't run on batteries. It doesn't boast of the bells and whistles of modern (read: technologically advanced) toys. Yet, this little train has amazing appeal for the kids and have provided countless hours of self-entertainment. Sure, they have been distracted by newer toys but they never tire of this little red train. So, this little red train really rocks. I had to give it its own speech bubble...painted it white and stitched around it...

I also used some stash from Tinkering Ink (the felt tag and rubons) which really matched the Basic Grey Paper....Mixed chipboard and some stickers for the title.

Supplies

Patterned paper: Basic Grey, Sassafras
Bazzill cardstock
Chipboard: American Crafts
Stickers: American Crafts, Toga, Adorn It
Felt tag and rubons: Tinkering Ink
Others: white paint, orange thread, transparency (journaling block) Pin It

Challenge at Mix It Up!

Mixer #9 at Mix It Up! is to use a recycled item..right up my alley..I'm always incorporating something recycled on my layouts or using my scraps. This is a layout of Cookie, my dog who passed away recently :( .

Used Graphic 45 papers for this layout. My recycled items are a tealight casing...I cut the edges and folded them in...added a pearl strand and circular paper with dates and adhered with glossy accents...And green pull rings (Carlsberg beer). Photo was sanded around the edges.

Journaling was printed on transparency and tabbed (pull each out to read). Some hand stitching around the edges.

Supplies

Patterned paper: Graphic 45
Cardstock: Bazzill
Stickers: EK Success
Others: String, green thread, transparency Pin It

Mixer # 6

Here is my take on Mixer #6. Love the color palette we had to use. A very simple layout using some Basic Grey papers, some stickers and a little stitching. A picture of my nephews with their Aunts and Uncle...love how the elder one is always posing for the camera...:)

Supplies

Paper: Basic Grey, Die Cuts with a View
Stickers: American Craft, Sticko, AdornIt
Others: Ribbon, lace, button, thread Pin It
