The story about the day we went to watch Monsters University...

About-today

So this was a story that needed to be recorded for several significant reasons...

1. My brother actually did something nice.. [Eh...it doesn't happen very often...]

Usually when he calls on Sunday morning, it means that child-sitting is involved and my day of mixed media fantasy gets thrown out of the window [this happens rather frequently...]. But today, he actually called to ask if my mother and I wanted to go watch Monsters University with him and littlest nephew J. He would even come over to pick us up. Wow. Even though I had a red-eye flight to catch that night, I couldn't really pass up on this right? *winks*

2. We almost didn't get to go.

He came early and parked right outside the main gate. But when it was time to go, the engine wouldn't start at all..[dramatic music plays in the background]. He called the Volkswagon Service Centre and a tow truck was expected to come by in an hour. Now, the movie was in 30 minutes and since he parked his car right outside the main gate, we couldn't get the family car out either....[sad music plays in the background...]

3. It was littlest nephew J's first movie.

He was pretty excited since his brothers had already seen the movie... [okay the pictures were of him pretending to be sad for documentation purposes...*LOL*]...

4. The tow truck came by in 10 minutes.

Fortunately, the tow truck driver was just 10 minutes away and successfully towed my brother's car to the workshop...and we could drive the other car to the cinema! :)

5. We made it in time to watch the trailer!

So given the speed demon that my brother was, we made it in time to watch the movie in its entirety! [Okay...the cinema was like 15 minutes away..]

Giggles, kisses and laughter...:)

Giggles-kisses-and-laughter

I love hanging out with these two - littlest nephew J (3+) and niece S (1+). Always filled with giggles, kisses and laughter. They are soooooo entertaining. :) And they work really hard [posing for pictures..*LOL*] for food. *winks*

For the love of breakfast...

N35

Are you a day person or a night person? I am so a day person. When night falls, I get sleepy. *LOL* So breakfast is the most important meal of the day for me. I love a hearty breakfast. :) Try making me skip it....see how cranky I get...*winks* [Yeah....I have to eat something before brunch...]

This layout features the yummy breakfast I had in Melbourne. N°35 serves a great Eggs Benedict and blueberry pancakes. :)

I'm really into the chevron trend.

2 in 1 birthday

I'm really into the chevron trend right now. Judging by the patterned papers in my stash. And the chevron stencils.  *winks*

What trend are you into right now? Any chevron fans? *High fives*

Watch & learn...

Watch & learn

So after half a day of playing with his new toy [while it was still in the box !], littlest nephew J finally asked for help to assemble his new toy...while his sister, S, patiently watched on...

The moment J got tired of playing with his toy [some 2 hours later], she started doing what she learned from her brother while watching him play...[that's why girls should rule the world! *High fives all around*]

I was inspired by the sketch challenge at Challenge Me Happy.

Supplies: Creative Imaginations mask, Maya Road mists, American Crafts thickers, SRM stickers, Fiskars patterned papers, Prima blooms, black pen, brads.

The new toy

New toy

Littlest nephew J loves getting new toys. Interestingly though, he loves to admire the new toy in its glorious packaging...for at least half a day [no kidding!]...before he asks for help in opening the box.

Here he is...happily posing with his new toy [still in the box!]...*LOL*

Supplies: Echo Park patterned papers and stickers, SRM stickers, American Crafts thickers, buttons, brads, photo turns, black pen, white pen, twine.

When I travel....

Life is beautiful

When I travel, I like to go for scenic drives, visit museums and art galleries and just fully absorb what the local culture has to offer. :) Travel shopping has taken a backseat since most things these days are "Made in China". I'm sure you know what I mean. It's so hard to find locally made stuff. *LOL* But if shoes and scrapping supplies are involved....then it's a totally different story...*winks*

Just a quick layout using My Mind's Eye patterned paper scraps. Lots of SRM stickers. A little stamping on shrink plastic.

Playing along with the challenge at Challenge Me Happy to make your own embellishments.

Supplies: My Mind's Eye patterned papers, SRM stickers, 7 Gypsies sticker, Maya Road stamp, StazOn black ink, American Crafts chipboard, lace, ribbon, brads, googly eye, button, black pen, paper clip.

*Edited* I am the winner at Challenge Me Happy! :)
