The washi tape obsession

Pics-with-Ah-Chor

So two years ago, I started my MT tape "collection" after a trip to Taiwan. Now I never took to washi tape prior to that because the ones I had [read: made in China] didn't stick very well and I had to add adhesive!

But the obsession wasn't that bad....I think maybe 60 rolls? *LOL* I bought acrylic drawers for them and promised myself that ALL my washi tape had to fit into them. Which meant the only way to add to the collection was to use up my existing MT tape.

Guess what? With the drop in Yen and the readjustment in MT tape prices [about 30% less], I'm doing less hoarding and more using! Can you tell from this layout on the niece and nephews with their great grandma?

Okay okay, so I cheated and bought a new set of acrylic drawers for my new MT tapes...*winks*

  5. That layout makes great use of washi tape. I am also a hoarder and I am buying faster than I am using. There are just so many places selling them nowadays that restricting purchases just doesn't seem possible *wink*wink! Thanks for sharing a beautiful use for them.

  8. I have a problem with washi not sticking too. If you use glue it leaves bumps, not so pretty.

  9. I just counted my washi tape- 41 rolls. I only bought a handful of them though. And I do use them, most often for wrapping gifts. :)

  14. Oh, you FUNNY girl...so the money you are saving from NOT buying tape.....you spent on new drawers????!!!!!! LOL!!! But I can see you are using it up!!! And so well!! I haven't journaled on my washi for ages. So thanks for the reminder! I was like you. If it didn't fit on the washi tree....I couldn't buy any more. But then I removed the ribbon off the ribbon reel. And it's a perfect extra washi space. Need I say more??!!!! AND LOOOOOVE the spotty bg here....glad you could use that lace......ADORE those photos:):)
