When fave cousins meet

When my cousin came by with her husband and two boys last New Year's Eve, the older one Eli liked nephew #1 very much and declared him his "fave cousin". (Yes, you've met the younger sibling, Jon...the one who was enamoured with our laundry basket...*LOL*)

Gosh, Eli had so many things to tell his older cousin. And they spent the whole afternoon together. :)

It was lovely to watch them bond despite the age difference. And I was really surprised at how patient nephew #1 was with his younger cousin.

As always, just a compilation of random stash put together on a layout. *winks*

Hope your week's going well friends!:)

Mixed Media Monday - Let's get back to the eye sketches

Did I mention that I started my daily eye sketches 2 weeks ago? Well, that was a false alarm. *LOL* I think I did 3 and stopped. Just stupid to add something to my plate that was already overflowing with life plus CNY prep. But here we are, trying again today. :)

Happy week ahead friends!

The one about Jon and the laundry basket

So my nephew Jon came over for a visit on New Year's Eve and found his fave "toy"! Yep, the laundry basket! *LOL*

He was adamant about pushing the laundry basket from the living room up a few steps to the dining room, making a turn and repeating the process again and again. And like most toddlers, he would get mad if anyone "helped" him. *winks*

I must say that he had pretty good motor skills for a 23 month old. He could navigate turns without hitting anyone or anything....and he was relentless in his "laundry work"!  The adults were very entertained. :)

Happy Friday friends!

Enjoy your weekend! :)

Thursday's decorated box

Happy Thursday friends! Meet today's decorated box!:)

I started with this lovely sturdy box from a Drunk Elephant skincare set.

I covered the five sides with patterned paper and decorated just the lid of the box.

Might have gone a little crazy with the embellishments...but did you spot the bunnies? *winks*

Hope you are having a great week so far! :)

The one about the CNY Krispy Kreme doughnuts

The other day I brought home some CNY Krispy Kreme doughnuts from my trip to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. :)

I've always enjoyed the glazed doughnuts as I found the assorted varieties to be a tad too sweet for my liking. But they had some "special" flavours for CNY so I bought some back for the family.

Mum went straight for the one with the Kit Kat bar on it! *LOL*

I was pleasantly surprised that the doughnuts were not that sweet anymore *yay* and I might just buy them again for an occasional treat when I travel (these are 3x more expensive in Singapore).

Just the usual packaging, scrap bits and stickers. So happy to use my Miffy sticker on the page. So cute, eh? This is the year I will use up my bunny/rabbit stash! *happy music plays in the background*

A super quick decorated mini box for CNY 2023

Happy Thursday friends! Meet today's project : a super quick decorated mini box for CNY 2023. :)

I started with this really lovely sturdy box from my recent stay at Shangri La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur (only the box made it home...the chocolates did not! *LOL*)

Isn't the bunny cute? :)

Workspace Wednesday - first two eye drawings of 2023

It only took me about 2 weeks or so...but I'm getting back into the daily eye sketching again. *winks*

And yes, I had to start on the most "stressful" week of the year - the week before CNY. But I think it was timely because I needed to have a bit of "me time" in the chaos of things. :)

Hope there is something interesting on your workspace today.

The one about E's birthday 2023

So we celebrated E's birthday on her actual birthday this year! (7 January)

And of course, my latest signage (which I shared last week)  made its debut.

Papa Yam was so excited about the new signage that he wanted to hold it and also stand in front of the cake like it was his birthday! *LOL*)

Mummy Yam was holding the cake signage that I made back in November 2022 and pretending to "eat" it. Yep, my folks are entertaining like that. *winks*

Lots of fun bits from happy mail and packaging along with washi tape, stickers and fussy-cut bits.:)

Of course I had to try a new recipe on the morning of my sister's birthday...you know me, like to add difficulty to an already challenging situation *cue laughter*. Meet my first red velvet cake! :)

Happy Tuesday friends! :)

Make Stuff Monday - a CNY signage

Hello friends! Just a few days more to CNY 2023 and your gal made a CNY signage! :)

I used an old wooden spatula that had seen better days....

I fussy-cut elements from different red packets and added some bling! :)

Of course I couldn't leave the back uncompleted...so I added a boy version.

No bling for the boy though. *LOL*

A decorated baby boy gift bag

One of my cousins is expecting a baby boy so I bought a little something for my nephew and had to make something to hold the gift....presenting....a decorated baby boy gift bag! :)

Here's the sturdy paper bag I repurposed....

Just trying to use up as many scrap bits as possible without the collage getting too bulky. Did it work? *winks*

Happy Friday friends!

The one about the monthly club meal

So every month we go to my dad's graduate club for a meal to use up the monthly credit.

We've been going for years and have pretty much picked out our faves to order, deviating from the regular menu only when the restaurant has a promotion for roast duck, Peking duck or lobster. *winks*

The food is pretty decent but most importantly, it means that I have ONE less meal to cook for the week. :)

Just a fun layout using little colourful bits from my stash...

Playing along with Stick It Down.
