The gold decorated box...a tutorial

The-gold-decorated-box

So last month, I went on a "must-complete-half-done-projects" mission. This was one of them.:)

I started with this sturdy mooncake box.

I covered it with wrapping tissue from packaging for texture.

Next I adhered chipboard.

After a coat of gesso, I applied gold acrylic paint. To create a little more depth, I applied Silks acrylic glaze in bronze. I also used Ranger crackle effect accents to define to chipboard design.

The last step was to embellish! Oh yes, I might have gone a little overboard with the buttons! *lol*

P/s: Another box for my mum to store her sewing supplies!:)

  9. So pretty! Every time we get an especially nice box around here, I ask myself what Yvonne would make with it! Then it goes in a pile in my craft room to be forgotten. ;)

  11. Wow! SO gorgeous, Yvonne! Loving all the rich gold on here, and love your cluster of embellies! I think the chipboard lattice adds such amazing texture, and I love the crackle paint in the center of each cut out. The old clock face really jumps out at me, too. And I totally adore that you went "overboard" with the buttoms! :D
