A mixed media tag for LESSology

A-joyful-heart-mixed-media-card-by-Yvonne-Yam-for-LESSology

These days I've been taking a backseat to creating more projects. That's why I've been posting a lot less on the blog. It is not for a lack of ideas or inspiration. But because I'm conscious of the "pile of stuff" that I'm accumulating and would be leaving behind... you know when the time comes. *a little morbid here...lol*

I see other furiously making layouts after layouts featuring a SINGLE photo and tons of expensive embellishments and I do wonder how they store them. There should be an episode of House Hunters where one of the buyers needs a space for a scraproom and the albums. [oh yes...I may be a little addicted to HGTV...*winks*]

Anyway, I decided that I'm more likely to give away a tag when I'm packing happy mail for someone. [emphasis on more likely since so far I've given away like 2 tags! *lol*]

So for LESSology Challenge #48: Lace up!, I made a mixed media tag. Can you spot the lace on my tag?

  2. I totally know what you mean... It all take space and eventually room as well ;)
Your tag is stunning. Simplicity with lots of texture really works well.
I love how you used the lace, just wonder what you used to make the sentiment and how you managed to make it look so good on an uneven surface???

  4. EEEK! Just what I'm a bit worried about....although a lot of the pages go to Other family members homes....so then it's THEIR problem, right??!!! LOL!!! I adore your tag.....love the texture you've gotten with the lace thrown in & that little bird. Already told you he's the CUTEST with his Silks on!!!!

  6. Ahhhh - love everything about this tag Yvonne. The yellow roses - just for me in Texas- eheheheh!! And I can't decide which I like the best the "mesh/wire" look in the background or the white string... I think the string wins!! I love using string like that!! The sentiment is PERFECT. This ones a keeper!! j

  7. Agree with Tone-hill, yes simple yet complex is the tag...and so is your post :) I too want to know if the sentiment is on a textured or pp surface !!

  8. I totally agree. I give away almost everything with any dimension at all and I have limits on what I scrap. If I'm ever featured on House Hunters, I'm going to need a room for the albums, a library, and a gift wrap room. Plus, of course, bedrooms and offices for ourselves. I have a feeling the houses that fit the bill might be out of our price range. ;)

  9. This is so gorgeous!! I love the amazing texture and dimension!! That bird is so beautiful!! What a stunning tag!! I have the same problem with storing cards...they were taking over. I finally opened an Etsy store to get rid of some of them. Have a great day :)

  16. I have often wondered where people store all their creations too! Thinking about my own, and the future, was the reason for moving into photobooks. But there is joy in making things physically too, and this is such a pretty colour combination. I am sure it was much appreciated!

  17. Holy Cow, Girl!! This is sooooo stunning! The colors! The details! Totally up at the top of my all-time faves of yours! And I know what you mean about accumulating the masses.... I pretty much stopped scrapbooking for that very reason. I tend to stick with cards because at least I feel like I can give those away. :)
