Art is an incredible adventure...you never know what you can do unless you give it a try.
For me, it relates to stamping. I can never stamp nice crisp images...and believe me, I've bought every tool and tried every trick in the book...I always have to touch up with a marker...*LOL*
The foray into mixed media gave my stamps a new lease of life because imperfect stamping became a deliberate attempt at giving random texture...*winks*
Of course, my first attempt at stamping this lovely lady directly on the canvas was an epic fail. So I tried on a piece of wrapping tissue..[almost perfect, I can live with that!] and then adhered it to the canvas with gel medium. After that, it was colouring and embellishing time! :)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful canvas. .she looks gorgeous. .love the embellishments
ReplyDeleteThat tissue trick is a great idea. I would have stamped directly on the canvas and then touched it up with a Sharpie....LOL! That reminds me of how some people apply a stamped tissue paper onto a candle and brush wax over it to decorate the candle. The canvas is gorgeous. I love how you colored the image and added embellishments.
