So, I have been a collector of random things for a very long time...my family calls me the "rubbish collector"...*LOL*
But there's a method to my "madness"...it must hold some personal meaning for me [that's my story and I'm sticking to it! *winks*]...like the bow from an old hairclip and the Dior charm from my very first travel make-up kit that I've incorporated on my mixed media canvas for The Crafter's Workshop.
I love that the mixed media canvases in my room all incorporate little bits of what I've "collected" over time. What about you? What do you collect?
What a treasure Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteYou did an amazing job!
Thank You for sharing it with us ;)
Wow..Its Amazing how you have transformed the "rubbish" to such a classy beauty !!loved the texture with stencil !
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! I collect and keep so many things! I love looking at things and remembering the good times and the amazing people :-) I also collect art supplies, notebooks, wool and vinyl toys....I need help haha!
ReplyDeleteJust as well you're a 'collector' as opposed to a 'hoarder'!! Cos other wise this would never have gotten made, & it's my favest of all time, cos it has such a vintage, 1930s vibe & I looove that time & the gold & the texture is YUM & the bow is just perfection. I REALLY love this:):)
ReplyDeleteI knew there was a reason I am attracted to your work. We are rubbish collector sisters. My family can't understand my obsession with junk. You just never know when something will inspire some 'art'...like the marvelous piece you made with the lace and metal. Thanks for sharing your memories via your craft.
ReplyDeleteHehehehe ... you and me both .. I collect the trash too! LOL!! I loveeeeeeeee this!! LOVING the colors (perfect for that Dior clip) and loving the lace!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - love this! I have always collected salt and pepper shakers. I inherited several from my Grandmother and continued to collect. With two children in military families I now have a collection from all over the world.

ReplyDeleteStunning!! Ooooh I collect a lot of rubbish too LOL!!! Vegetable packaging is a favourite & laces & ribbons too - I don't use them as fast as I find them!
ReplyDeleteLove the Gold on this, Yvonne! So beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI believe the term is "hoarder". haha kidding!
ReplyDeleteI collect postcards from new places I visit. At first it was to beautify my walls and also to feel a sense of accomplishment; but now that I'm downsizing, they're just sitting in a box somewhere. Not quite sure what to do with them...
Wonderful canvas! Love the elegant colors, perfect to the Dior and bow, both beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteSo, I love this! From the bow to the charm, it's sweet!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, the texture here is amazing! And the color, too! LOVE this, Yvonne! You always inspire me with your mixed media work!

ReplyDeleteAs a child I used to collect everything, but I've cut down significantly in adulthood. Now I mostly collect art supplies. :D
