Like most people, I am always a little apprehensive about a face-to-face meeting up with someone I got to know online. What if they don't like me? On the web, I can maintain a certain aura of mystery. And I can be self-deprecating and funny. After numerous edits. *winks* In person, I might just underwhelm. *LOL*
Since Helen's the queen of modern shabby chic, I thought it would be appropriate to go all pretty and sweet on my layout....

I love that masking! I would love to meet some scrappy friends some day!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed meeting a person, Michael, I met online in person. He lives in Toronto, Canada. My hubby was on business in Toronto, Canada. Hubby's company flew me there since hubby had been there 3 wks. Michael met us in downtown Toronto, treated us to lunch and showed us around as we walked downtown. Was awesome.

It is wonderful you two got to meet in person, and I can imagine it wasn't as difficult as imagined - you are both such lovely people! I tried conning Helen into coming 'here', but the pond ride was just too wide. What a wonderful memory for you both. Love your LO
ReplyDeleteI get what you mean..... online and offline can be so totally different! But I am so glad I met Amy and Cathy (another crafter)!!! Hopefully we get to meet one day too! :D
ReplyDeleteLoving your shabby chic layout!
I haven't had the chance to meet too many bloggy pals in real life, but it is a bit nerve-wracking and super exciting all at once! ;) LOVE your page! So pretty with all the girly touches and I LOVE how you arranged the photos. You are amazing in that you do every style with ease and grace!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this page Yvonne! ThAnk you SO much for creating such a sweet and pretty layout in my honour - I am really flattered!! Meeting you was amazing and I think of you EVERY time I dig into that texture paste + gel medium :)
ReplyDeleteGREAT page! I LOVE the left over stencil flowers in the background- it's such a pretty detail and perfect for the subject. I recently got to meet several bloggy friends in real life and it was AMAZING. I tend to be really impulsive so I didn't think of the ramifications till way after I scheduled the meet date. Both times it went very well- it helped that I felt very comfortable because I felt like I "knew" them already. Usually I'm pretty shy when I met a person for the first time- I tend to hang back and listen.
ReplyDeleteI have met up a couple of bloggy friends and I love it. Online and offline can be a totally different thing. Like you said, we can portray a certain kind of personality offline but we can be a complete opposite in real life. But I still love to meet you someday :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow ... i love your page!!! thanks for playing at SF!
