I make a conscious effort to be "green" especially when it comes to crafting....stretching the use of supplies and using "found" objects on my projects. While I love the effect of luscious layers on my layouts, I try to create depth through inking and mixing different textures instead of adding layers of paper on top of each other. Not only do I do my part for the environment, my scrapbooks are lighter and a lot less bulky! :)
What about you? Are you a green crafter?
I love this Pink Paislee paper (base). It has some resist design on it so all I had to do was ink and mist a little. The burlap fabric is from the Gauche Alchemy BabyKiddoCutie Papercraft kit. I also used Ouchless cardboard to add a little dimension to my layout! And those pull-off tabs tell you how many drinks I've had! ;) Alphas are from American Crafts.
This layout was inspired by the challenge over at Better Living Through Scrapbooking. Gauche Alchemy's a sponsor this month so do play along for your chance to win some goodies! :)

ReplyDeleteI enjoy giving life to discarded items ... I look at it as a kind of rescue mission and my dh helps me collect items too. Often he has street treasure for me at the end of the day.

Beautiful Layout as ever!!
ReplyDeleteI have always been a green crafter, saving every bit of scrap, using "found" objects, reusing when possible. It gives me immense pleasure to turn simple things creative :D

ReplyDeleteI try to be green. Not "just" because I think it's important to bring the care into the crafting as well, but because it's FUN to use unique things, too! ...but I never made anything THAT pretty! :D

ReplyDeleteYou are just a repurposing genius! I am not so green when it comes to crafting, but I did find myself searching my basement last night looking for something to alter :>) Oh and I did save something to use as an embellie while cleaning my daughter's room and my first thought was Yvonne would be proud of me!
