Blushing bride

Supplies: Cardstock, ribbon, lace, pearls, paint, border punch, tassels, crochet flowers, wrapping tissue cardboard.

This blushing bride is my mum on her wedding day...:)

I'm so in love with ribbon and lace...check out the gorgeous lace my friend Mandy sent me from Australia (framing the left and right)! Thanks Mandy! :) They are perfect for the new challenge at Let's get Shabby... which is to use white and/or cream with a hint of another colour. Mine's a hint of pink...the cardstock which I painted over. I have to give credit to my oldest nephew S, who suggested that I include a butterfly on my layout...it does look pretty...:). What do you think?

A beautiful life

Supplies: Patterned paper: Chatterbox & Basic Grey, Cardstock: Bazzill, Rubon: KaiserCraft, Stickers: Doodlebug designs, Flowers: Prima, Brads: Basic Grey,Others: Sizzix die, white pen

Wishing all my blogland friends a beautiful life! :)

I love this Basic Grey paper...The challenge at Card Patterns this week threw me off a little...can I do a heart, swirls, flowers, ribbon and patterned paper on a 6x6 card? The swirls were cut out from the same Sizzix die (the heart). Lilac lace replaced the ribbon component... and I layered 3 Prima flowers. The word "beautiful" was from a KaiserCraft rubon...the rest from Doodlebug stickers. I'm glad my Cuttlebug machine is seeing some action these days...I will get to you soon Wishblade!

Tuesday

I love to travel and I'm fortunate to have been to many places...:) This week's challenge at Scrapping Out Loud is to scrap about one of your dreams and mine is to travel the world of course...it would be so cool to be a travel journalist...:) My layout features me at age 12..somewhere in Malaysia during the school holidays...back when I still wore skimpy shorts out..argh! Except for the base paper, everything else is from scraps...I love to cut patterned paper while watching tv and organizing them in ziplog bags...then when I need them, they are already cut and ready to use! :) I always say I scrap a layout in under an hour...because the tedious part is already done!

Come play along!

Dear Blogger team

I have been blogging for 7 months now and was just wondering if you could maybe help me out ...
1. Any chance of reducing spamming such that word verification would be a totally unnecessary function?
2. Any possibility that you can prompt when someone's trying to leave a nasty comment...something along the lines of..."Hey, that's not very nice!"...then we won't need comment moderation and approval...?
3. Any chance that URLs are automatically linked so that we don't have to do html coding when leaving a simple direct link to our post?
4. Any chance of working out all the existing bugs in the current widgets instead of adding new widgets?
5. Is it possible to click on a commenter's name and be brought immediately to their last blog post instead of having to go to the user profile?
6. Can we have a lot less down time?
7. Can you tell me why my comments sometimes disappear into a mysterious black hole when I am in the middle of writing one?
8. Can I get the awesome post I wrote yesterday that I intended to post today that *gasp* is no longer in my drafts folder? Why? Why? Why?
9. Why do I have to constantly clear my cache & cookies before I can load pictures?
10.Why do IE users always get an error message?
11. Why doesn't anybody from Google blogger respond to my queries? Hey, I need help!
12. Why can't I leave a comment on a blog?
13. Should I switch to a different platform?

Bloom

Supplies: Patterned paper: Basic Grey & Sassafras, Chipboard: Heidi Swapp, Flowers: Prima, Others: satin fabric, thread, white pen, brad.

Here's my Bloom layout for this week's recipe challenge over at Scrapping Out Loud. The challenge is to work on an assortment of different sized paper and/or embellishments on your layout as listed...

1. 9x10 piece of paper
2. 8x8 piece of paper
3. 2 pieces of 3x11 paper
4. 1 piece of ribbon size of your choice
5. a scrap of fabric
6. 3 layered flowers (or other embellishments)
7. A hand-sewn flourish...

The only other things you can add are a journaling block and aphas. Pretty interesting challenge, eh? It's like putting pieces of a puzzle together without knowing how the completed picture looks...fun! Can't wait to see what you come up with...:)

I've kept mine really simple...except for the cardstock base, all the rest of the paper are from scraps. The hand-sewn flourish looks a little wonky because I got carried away with poking the holes while watching tv...LOL...that's what happens when you are too lazy to trace out the flourish...apparently, my visualization and eyeballing skills need some work...:)..

Come play along!

Tuesday

Sweetest friend

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill, Brads: Imaginsce, Flowers: Prima, Others: embossing folder, ink, stamp, ribbon, thread.

This Sweetest Friend card was assembled from scrap pieces in my stash. Yay! I remembered that I had an embossing machine...LOL...so I embossed the cardstock, rubbed some gold Brilliance ink over it, added some flowers, brads, ribbon & stamped the sentiment. It looked pretty undone to me so I added the handstitching.

Inspired by Card Patterns, 365 cards & Pile It On.

*Edited* This card made Super 6 at Card Patterns! Sweet! :)

The layout features 10 things I love about my littlest nephew, J, which I wrote on the photo. Some handstitching around the photo...a paper flower from scraps... stickles on the hearts...faux stitching with a white pen and a big bling.

Tuesday

So sweet

Supplies: Patterned paper: Glitz Design, Cardstock: Coredinations, Stickers: ProvoCraft, Wood letters (titling): Kaiser Craft, Others: Stickles, red paint, buttons, transparency, white pen, stamp, Stazon.

This week's challenge at Scrapping Out Loud is all about ripping! Oh yes! Rip some paper, fabric, cardboard or whatever you want...Cool eh? My So Sweet layout does have some strategic bits of ripping...it was hard for me to rip a perfectly good piece of paper...ahh..the lengths we go for our craft...lol.:). I used only 1 sheet of patterned paper..the red bits are the reverse side of the paper..and some scrap cardstock for the photo mat. Yay! Go green!

I printed the lyrics of the nursery rhyme on transparency, then adhered them to the paper. This was done on clear acrylic...the visible portion was stamped with Stazon.

Some stitching along the little clusters of photos...

The layout features my 2 nephews having fun on my bed...when they were supposed to be napping...this marks the first time I've been unsuccessful at getting them to zzz....:( They were so chatty! I tried everything! Including ignoring them...which prompted them to take turns pretending to be me & tucking each other to sleep singing Six A Song of Sixpence...It was hilarious watching and listening to them...lol..this was the first time they've ever sang this nursery rhyme out loud...

The title of this layout was inspired by the word Sweet at One Little Word.

So fun

Supplies: Patterned paper: Scenic Route, October Afternoon, Cosmo Cricket & K & Co, Cardstock: Bazzill, Cordinations & DCWV, Chipboard letters: Heidi Swapp, Puffy stickers: American Crafts, Stamp: Technique Tuesday, others: thread, ink, cork paper, animal stickers.

The August challenge over at Scrap Inspire Create is up! This month, the challenge is to incorporate ATCs (2.5 X 3.5) creatively onto your layout. Except for the base paper, the rest of the supplies were from scraps...ATCs are really great for using the small bits of paper...:) So fun! And green too!

My layout features my 3 adorable nephews...the youngest is 4 months old and can't sit up by himself yet...can you see that he's leaning on his big brother? He laughs a lot but when I whip out my camera, he just stares at it...oh well, at least he looks directly at the camera...:)

I love the bright colours on the Scenic Route base paper..and basically just picked out colours from my scrap stash to match, put them together on the ATCs and then handstitched...yes it took a lot of time...but I find poking holes in paper and stitching them up strangely therapeutic.

Monday

Love life

Supplies: Patterned paper: Graphic 45, Sassafras & Teresa Collins, Cardstock: Bazzill, Brads: Basic Grey, Stickers: Toga, Others: Ribbon, thread, stickles, black pen, 3D pop dots.

Yay! Another sparkly card...I love stickles! I thought about the sentiment for this card and decided to go with "Love life"...the monkeys are just fearless and happy parachuting away...Something I've always wanted to try...someday!

Supplies: Patterned paper: Bo Bunny & Graphic 45, Puffy stickers: American Crafts, Stickers: Adorn It, Others: Wood floral embellishments, ribbon, lace, stickles.

Here's a card using some Bo Bunny & Graphic 45 papers with ribbon & lace. The wooden floral embellishment was a nice bright orange...I added Stickles to make it glittery...:) Happy Monday! :)
