This brings back memories..one of my fave nail extension details to date. Which lasted a couple of hours. Before I had an accident at the Japanese restaurant during dinner. Chair 1, Me broke a nail extension and hurt my nail bed. The bleeding was massive and scary for a while. And I had to go back to the nail salon to get my extension trimmed as short as possible so it would not snag on the bandage. But it could have been worse. The nail extension probably saved my nail bed from serious injury.

Anyway, glad I got this picture before the accident. Even though one nail was in a bandage, I did enjoy the other nine nails for a few weeks. *LOL*

This week in eye drawings - experimenting with watersoluble mediums

 

So I didn't really like how much the paper buckled when using traditional watercolours and experimented with other watersoluble mediums for the base layer this week.

Like Derwent Inktense coloured pencils. On this one.

Then I found some Staedtler watercolour pencils and gave those ago on this eye.

This one was done with Derwent Aquatone crayons.

Definitely glad my neglected art supplies finally got some play time. :)

Make Stuff Monday - decorated Xmas box

 

There are few stores locally selling scrapbook paper these days so I've gone for Christmas wrapping paper instead. 

The only downside is that it is super thin, tears easily and shows wet glue marks. 

So I used dry adhesive to stick it down then reinforce the sides with trusty washi tape...which doubles as a lovely border design.

What do you think?

Well friends, you saw how many My Melody knick knacks I bought from Seoul...so you should anticipate that I will have loads of packaging to use on projects! *winks* Like on this cute card!

Workspace Wednesday - new Miffy stuff!

 

Hello friends! Just wanted to share my new Miffy stuff! :)

I've pretty much ditched all plastic bottles and my Coldest and Hydro Flask bottles are just too heavy when I travel. So..I got a 470ml bottle with a matching sling bag for that. The small coffee cup is just perfect for my matcha latte. :)

Last April I decided to try almond-shaped nail extensions and I haven't looked back since. I love how it elongates my fingers and makes me feel feminine. These days I still rock the almond-shaped extensions albeit a lot shorter since my natural nails grow really fast.

Mixed Media Monday - playing with watercolours and coloured pencils on my eye drawings

 

Since the paper in my new sketchbook is a bit thicker, I decided to see how much water it can take. The first layer is done with watercolours...and then finished with coloured pencils.

The paper does buckle a little and you can't really lift the colour off (since it's not watercolour paper) but with most of the "skin" part done, the eye drawing took significantly less time to complete *high fives all around*,

So I started a new sketchbook. *dramatic music plays in the background*

It's a small one - 4x4 Goldmine by Clairefontaine...so that it fits into my colour pencil travel box.

It's got a bit of texture so I'm not sure if I like it or not.

This week's double pager is all about appreciating the little things in life - like some pretty happy mail from a creative friend or just enjoying the sunset during my evening walk in my neighbourhood. :)

Another day out in town

 

So the other day I brought mum out to town for lunch and a little shopping...

Well, you know me...and my love for Japanese food...*winks*

After that we met up with my sister for dinner at our fave Korean restaurant.

If you were wondering about dad, he was uncontactable so he ate our leftovers for dinner. *LOL*
