So if you didn't already know...the Yams love durian! :)
Our government recently gave all citizens some vouchers to help with the cost of living (and to help local businesses) so we went to Ah Seng Durian for a treat! The box of Blackthorn durian that mum is holding is S$45. It goes by weight and you pay for the thorny shell that is inedible.
Durian season only comes twice a year with the mid-year harvest being the biggest one...so it's really a treat to get to savour the king of fruits. :)
Everything about this is interesting to me. I had no idea durian was so expensive. I love that that's how you treated yourselves - I hope you all enjoyed every bite!
